We are incredibly grateful and truly humbled to share that we’ve been named the Winner of Best of North Carolina. This recognition means more to us than words can express.
The past few years have brought significant challenges. After the loss of our founder and previous owner, Frank Smith, we began our journey as new business owners to soon after face Hurricane Helene. Helene forced us to close our doors for over a month during our busiest season, as we stepped in to support the community we love and call home. Like many small businesses, we felt that impact deeply. Navigating those hardships while finding our footing after the storm has not been easy, which makes this moment even more meaningful.
We would not be here without our loyal customers who stood by us through it all. Your support, encouragement, and votes made this possible, and we are sincerely thankful for each and every one of you.
It is an honor to do what we love alongside such a strong and supportive community. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our journey.
This one is for you Frank!
After some much needed drizzle, our high elevation small streams are fishing incredibly well right now. The bugs have showed up in force too. We’re seeing one of the most diverse hatches we’ve had in a long time. Large stoneflies, sulphurs, huge drakes, caddis, yellow sallies, quill gordons, and plenty more are all in the mix. At this point, you can practically close your eyes, grab any fly from the box, and find success with the right presentation. Right now is a great time to book a guide trip and take advantage of some wonderful Spring fishing and a few tips on our most popular hatches.
