Mid south team finals updates.

Team finals at I57 Dragstrip is building steam. We have most parts in place and some info to share.
Below is the team finals rule set with a few added changes. We kept the same entry fees as years prior, added a re entry round in the main event, lowered the spectator/crew cost and if we get enough interest we will add a Thursday gamblers race in there.

This weekend at I57 Dragstrip. Our season points finale on Saturday and it’s gonna be a banger. 3 classes will crown a champion with multiple racers still vying for that coveted track championship. Good luck racers. Friday night test tune will feature one lane Radial Prepped.

Friday. Test/tune. 5-9pm.
$5 gate fee. Kids 12 under free
$30 tech card.
***one lane will be Radial Prepped for any racer wanting to test for our Fall Fest coming up Oct 2nd-3rd. ( no street or hard tires allowed in this lane) ***

Saturday.
Gates open at 1pm . Time runs at 3pm. . Racing at 5pm.

Points races this Saturday.
$10 gate fee. Kids 12 under free
Test/tune tech card $30 (called as a class).

I57 Dragstrip Points Updates.

As we enter into the last points weekend of the year on Sept 26th.
Listed below is the current points standings as of Sept 19th. With the short back to back week, you have until 5pm Wednesday Sept 23rd to dispute, after that these points will stand.

Super Pro, Pro and Sportsman each have the top 3-5 still mathematically eligible for a track championship. These classes will go down to the wire this coming weekend. We cannot wait to see which racers come out on top. Good luck to all !!!!!

Team finals update for I57 :
We are allowed up to 40 racers for our team. We will break it down like this. Top 5 in Jr Dragster, top 5 in Sportsman. Top 15 in Pro and Top 15 in Super Pro will get first honors to attend. We will have a post regarding those racers and how to sign up. Any unused spots will go into a first come status 1 week after our last points race. If you’re sitting in the top 5 or 15 spots please let me know if you will attend asap. We only have a couple weeks to fill and submit our team roster. Shirts will be provided to each team driver. Crew shirts will be available for $25 each. I will have more info on those soon.

Racers and fans.
We are repaired, fixed and tested.
I know I said this yesterday. But we cannot thank Leslie Hopkins enough for what she did for us.
She ran an hour away to get parts and tools. Spent her off days including this morning on a Sunday to fix us up.
We found 5 broken and bent ends inside of the 16 pin connector. Everything is replaced in that circuit she repined and verified and it is all correct.
We tested the tree multiple times with no issues. And we believe this could be the cause of misc. tree issues we have been having. With it working great 1 week. Then not the next with no reason.
If you know Leslie or just wanna tell her thanks here., She deserves it. Thank you Leslie!!!!!!

Now…., let’s race this coming weekend !!!

Big shout out to Leslie Hopkins for helping us out. We have a potential plug, wiring and ends to repair this on the way. I don’t think we will get it all repaired for today, But it will get repaired and tested as soon as possible. Thank you Leslie for going above and helping us. !!! We appreciate you !!

Well the bad luck bug has hit us again. Between rain. Weather and just dumb bad luck we cannot catch a break.
We are CLOSED until further notice. Hopefully just this weekend and let me explain.
We experienced something tonight I’ve never came across. We lost the left side of our tree. It’s almost midnight and I just got home after attempting to fix it for the last 6 hours.
We were able to run 1 lane for the test tune but the left lane tree will not stay on.
After hours of tearing apart the tree in between cars running, pulling wires and replacing boards. We found the issue. Our plug that connects the tree to the tower is broken internally. There is a big crack that has allowed wires to touch taking the left lane signal out.
Unfortunately this is not a local hardware store item. It’s a 16 pin ACU plug and must be ordered. The soonest we can get one is Monday and the repair is soldering 16. Yes 16 mini phone cable wires into this thing which I know is not gonna be fun.
We have no recourse but to close. We cannot race on one lane. We truly apologize as this is 100 percent out of our control and is just a wear issue.
Please no negativity on here. We’ve had enough of that this year. Let’s just get this thing fixed and get back to racing.
