Check out this Green Heron photographed at Osage Park by Dwayne Foote! Such a cool shot of one of the many wildlife species that call the park home.

Green Herons are one of the few bird species known to use tools. They’ve been observed dropping insects, feathers, and other small objects onto the water to lure curious fish within striking distance.

Have a favorite wildlife photo you’ve taken at Osage Park? Send it our way! We’d love to feature some of your photos on our page.

They may not be on the payroll, but they definitely put in the hours and make Osage Park a 10/10 place!

From beavers reshaping habitat to frogs keeping insects in check, some of Osage Park’s most important work happens behind the scenes every day.

As we celebrate five years of Osage Park this October, we’re introducing you to a few members of the park’s unofficial staff and the roles they play in our wetlands.

Scroll through to meet the team, then tell us: which one have you spotted at Osage Park?

What makes Osage Park a 10/10 place to you?

Maybe it’s the wildlife. Maybe it’s having a quiet place to slow down in the middle of a busy city. Maybe it’s simply having a beautiful outdoor space right here in Bentonville.

On October 10, we’re celebrating the places that make our community special and giving everyone a chance to help support them.

Osage Park is a 10/10 place to volunteer, and our volunteers are a big reason it stays that way.

Throughout the year, volunteers give their time to help with invasive species removal and other projects that keep Osage Park beautiful and its ecosystem healthy. We couldn’t do it without each and every person who has spent a morning working alongside our team.

If you love Osage Park and want to help care for everything that makes it such a special place, join us for our next volunteer opportunity on October 10 from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
