📢 AP WATER SAFETY UPDATE! 📢

If you’ve played Aquatic Park before, you have probably thrown a disc into the lagoon once or twice. We’re here to let the club know: be careful when retrieving your disc, not all wildlife is friendly...

This past Friday, during Friday afternoon doubles round, Club President and 1029-rated nature enthusiast, Goss snapped this photo of what he calls “the strangest looking duck I’ve ever seen.” Upon hearing the camera sound on Geoff’s Motoral Razr, the strange beast dove into the water never to be seen again.

As a club, we can neither confirm nor deny the existence of the Loch Ness monster in the AP lagoon, but we do encourage you to TAKE EXTREME CAUTION when retrieving any discs you throw into the water. Thank you ;)

🥏 COME HELP GROW THE SPORT OF DISC GOLF IN HAYWARD THIS SATURDAY, MARCH 23RD 🥏

This Saturday, March 23rd, Leonard Muise will be leading a team of volunteers to continue installing a brand new, beginner-friendly course at Southgate Park in Hayward, and we could use more EBDGC volunteers. This course installation is a part of an ongoing project to bring several such courses to different parks around Oakland and Hayward, and with the support of the EBDGC and the Parks Departments in Oakland and Hayward, these courses will help our beloved sport reach new audiences, and most importantly, will give residents a healthy, life-long activity to enjoy within walking distance of where they live!

Here are several volunteers digging out the tee pads last weekend, and as you can see, if you are able to join and help out, you are guaranteed to leave with a smile on your face and a sense of accomplishment 😎

If you’ve never played our weeklies:

- 2 rounds to establish your handicap. Optional to pay during establishing rounds, unless you want in on the ace pot.

- Round is $5. Pay via PayPal to [email protected]

- Join a group of at least 3 people and sign in to event on Udisc

- Throw half your bag into water (optional) 🎣

The Berzerkeley Best Pairs Bash is a week from tomorrow, and we're looking for volunteers to help set up, take down, and spot during the event. All volunteers get free food and drinks, as well as a raffle ticket on the house at the after-party.

Sign up for the wettest and wackiest doubles tournament around happening Feb 10-11th at Aquatic Park DGC! And per usual, there will be wildest Super Bowl watch party in the bay happening a few blocks away following Sunday's round.

Berzerkeley Best Pairs Bash has been going on since 1986, and this year we are supporting the Alameda Food Bank, with 50% of sponsorship proceeds, and $10 per player, going towards providing nourishing food to Alameda residents in need.

Join us to play some disc golf, have some fun, and raise important funds for our community.
