Is Antartica on your travel bucket list? Keep in mind: when an emergency happens in one of the most remote places on Earth, getting help isn’t as simple as calling for an air ambulance.

As Medjet CEO John Gobbels explains in Forbes, there is no “fast rescue” in Antarctica. Weather, distance, sea conditions and limited aviation capabilities can make a medical evacuation incredibly complex.
