What an exciting time at GFM!

We had the opportunity to welcome KSHB 41, the Blue Springs City Theatre, and two contestants from the upcoming Blue Springs Got Talent show into the studio for an interview, and it was another great reminder of just how much exciting stuff is happening in our community.

We’re especially grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the Blue Springs City Theatre as they step into a new season and a new chapter. There’s something special about seeing organizations, artists, businesses, and community members coming together to support creativity and one another.

The Blue Springs Got Talent show is coming up on September 12, and we’re excited to see our community come out and support the talented people taking the stage.

Be sure to tune in live Monday morning to catch the interview on KSHB 41 News!

We love seeing Blue Springs continue to grow, create, and come together. We’re proud to be a small part of it and can’t wait to see what’s ahead. 💯

Friday night at home… 👀 Here’s a little taste of what a Friday night looks like at Live at GFM. 🎶

An intimate room. Incredible music. An artist sharing their songs just a few feet away.

Here’s Logan Miles Olson performing “Clarity” live at GFM.

The videos are great…

But there’s nothing quite like being in the room. ❤️

What an exciting day for Blue Springs!

We had the opportunity to attend the grand opening of the new Career Innovation Center, and we couldn't be more excited about what this facility will mean for the students and the future of our community.

Giving young people opportunities to explore different career paths, learn real-world skills, and discover what they're passionate about is something worth celebrating.

We're proud of our community for continuing to invest in the next generation, and we're looking forward to finding ways GFM can partner with the Career Innovation Center to help provide education, experiences, and opportunities for students.

Congratulations to everyone who helped make this happen. The future is looking bright in Blue Springs. 💯

What a great experience at GFM last night.

We had the opportunity to host an Infused Sound Healing Experience, and it was amazing seeing the studio transformed into something completely different than our usual recording sessions.

Great people, a great experience, and another reminder of just how many different ways music and sound can bring people together.

A huge thank you to Infused Sound Healing for collaborating with us and everyone who came out to be part of the evening. We're grateful for the opportunity and look forward to many more collaborations in the future.

🎛️ One Production Decision // Episode 21

Don't give the listener everything at once.

Sometimes a simple sound, instrument, or musical idea can become the thread that carries a song from beginning to end.

Introduce it early. Let the listener get familiar with it.

Then, as the song develops, let it develop too.

Add harmonies. Build the arrangement around it. Expand the sound. Bring in new layers. Give the listener something familiar, but in a new way.

The goal isn't to make every section sound bigger than the last.

It's to give the song somewhere to go.

Introduce the idea. Develop it. Let it grow.

Because sometimes the best way to keep a listener interested is to give them a reason to keep listening. 🎶

Mixing from the top down.

Sometimes the best way to get a mix moving is to start with the whole picture.

In this one, Brian is working from the mix bus down, using the Neve MBT and SSL Fusion to shape the overall character, energy, and feel of the track before getting too deep into the individual elements.

It's a different way of thinking about mixing:

Start with the big picture. Then work your way in.

This one is for Desire X, coming to us all the way from Bristol, England. 🇬🇧

✨ Something different is happening at GFM tonight…
The room is set. The lights are low. The frequencies are waiting. 🔔🌿

Getting ready for an Infused Sound Healing experience unlike anything we’ve done before.

Now we wait for the room to come alive… ✨

🎛️ One Production Decision // Episode 20

Density isn't the same as track count.

Here's a fun one:

The verse actually has more tracks than the chorus.

But which section feels bigger?

The chorus.

That's because a bigger-sounding section isn't necessarily about how many elements are playing, it's about what those elements are doing. Their energy, arrangement, dynamics, frequency, movement, and how much space they've been given.

You can have 30 tracks playing and still have a section feel small.

You can have 10 tracks and make the whole thing feel huge.

Don't count the tracks. Listen to the impact.
