We live in a world that is constantly pulling at our attention. Notifications, noise, opinions, expectations — an endless stream of input asking us to look out there.
Pratyahara is the practice of turning inward.

The fifth limb of yoga, often translated as “withdrawal of the senses,” is about gently detaching from the external world so you can hear what’s happening inside. Not shutting life out — but choosing not to be ruled by it.
It’s the moment in a yoga class when you close your eyes and stop caring what anyone else is doing.
It’s sitting in stillness and letting the noise pass without following it.

It’s the pause before you react.

The Secret Power of Yoga

by Nischala Joy Devi
There's still time to join our summer book study!

Together, we'll explore The Secret Power of Yoga, a modern and heart-centered interpretation of the Yoga Sutras that makes these timeless teachings accessible and relevant to everyday life.

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month at 10:45 AM, immediately following Libby's class. Our next gathering is June 7th, and we'll be discussing Chapters 1–4.

You’ve been breathing your whole life. But have you ever really used your breath?

Pranayama — the fourth limb of yoga — is the practice of working with prana, your life force energy, through intentional breathwork. It’s the bridge between the physical and the mental, between the body and the mind.

A few slow, conscious breaths can shift your entire nervous system. Regulate your mood. Clear mental fog. Bring you back to the present moment faster than almost anything else.

What if we told you that using a little extra help on the mat is actually the move?

Enter: the yoga strap.

Think of her as the best hug your body didn’t know it needed, the thing standing between you and that stretch you’ve been chasing for three years.

So grab a strap, get cozy, and let your body melt into places it’s never been before.

Focused Flow: Quads 🦵🏼

Driven forward, powerful at the front

This week’s 30-minute Focused Flow zeroes in on your quads — the muscles at the front of your thighs that fuel every rise, every hold, and every purposeful step forward on and off the mat.

From chair pose to high lunges to standing splits and slow descents, your quads are firing with focus — building endurance, protecting your joints, and carrying you through with strength.

🗓️ This Week’s Sessions

Monday — 8:15 AM Core Class
Friday — 8:15 AM Focus Flow Quads

✨ Why it matters:

Your quadriceps are your primary movers in standing and rising — controlling the depth of your squat, the stability of your knee, and the power behind every lunge and lift. Training them intentionally builds lower body endurance and improves balance and control.

When your quads are strong, you feel capable, driven, and steady — moving forward with ease and purpose.
Strong quads remind us that the drive to rise comes from within — built one intentional rep at a time.
