Horse riding instruction and development of horsemanship skills for riders of all ages and skill levels

10/29/2026

Unique opportunity: merit based lease for a deserving junior.

We are offering a specialized, reduced-rate lease for the 12.1 pony “Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice” specifically intended for a passionate, hard-working junior rider whose family might otherwise find a standard lease out of reach.

We are looking for a rider who:
✅Demonstrates exceptional horsemanship, reliability, and respect for horse care.
✅Has a strong work ethic and a genuine love for the sport.
✅Who wants to be a part of a supportive environment with riders of all ages.

$775 a month includes 8 lessons, 8 rides and all equipment for the pony (if rider has their own they can use with approval). Additional opportunities for horse showing are available.

As the pony is a small, we are looking for kids under 5’ and under 100lbs. Please reach out for more information.

This past Sunday we attended Red Gate Farm, LLCs final show of the season. Our riders did a wonderful job and had a great time!

I wanted to highlight one of my riders, Elena: this year Red Gate awarded the Elise Hester Equitation Scholarship for 2027 and Elena was the recipient. Elena has worked very hard this year bringing along the pony Spice. They have had many ups and downs, and Elena has always taken everything in stride. She took a pony that could barely jump crossrails at the beginning of the year to confidently coursing 2’. Additionally, Elena is hardworking around the barn, always tidying up and leaving the barn in better shape than when she arrived. She is very supportive of her teammates and other riders at the barn. Congratulations Elena!

With the show season winding down I have a few lovely horses and ponies available for lessons and half leases. Located in catharpin va, we are very convenient to Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William counties. We have a lovely outdoor, access to a beautiful covered for the most yucky of days, and a fun welcoming barn family. With the addition of a few new wonderful lesson horses we have space to accommodate a few more beginner to advanced riders.

One thing people might not know about us, is that we offer more than just basic horse riding lessons.

Yes, we offer a fun barn family and a relaxed environment where kids and adults can come be themselves, make new friends, and get some much needed pony time.

We also offer many additional riding opportunities to those seeking more knowledge and experiences. Students, when approved, can find many more opportunities in the saddle when it comes to younger or greener horses. These might be horses who just need miles, or need training. Students can get mini lessons here and there on these horses as well as full hour lessons if they choose, and can even get the opportunity to take these horses to shows.

Students learn valuable lessons when it comes to these horses - patience, kindness, and a sense of pride when they succeed in the saddle. I find the students who want to learn how to work with these horses are the ones who are really getting the most benefit that horses can offer. I also believe these students are the ones who will succeed the most in the future, in everything, not just horses.

Straight to champion from the trailer. No warm up needed. Great midday jaunt to Southern Heritage Farm for their horse show

Low to mid four figure budget but want an auto change, barefoot, and a big pretty mare? 2013 16.2h powerful and athletic mare looking for her person to give her a job. She’s told me she’d rather have one partner than be in a lesson program (which is oh so fair). Video in comments

And talk about a tail! Wow

Lovely 16.2 6 year old hunter prospect, sweet, smart, willing and so so so easy undersaddle! He’s going to make a fabulous show horse. Low-mid fours

While this is the singular photo I managed to snap Sunday I want to congratulate all my riders on their successful show Sunday!

Pictured is Redwood Bay’s rider riding to the blue in the 14 and under equitation.

She was also TIP champion in the junior hunter horse pleasure with him.

Perlee Bleu’s rider rode beautifully and walk away with low hunter champion, pleasure pony champion, and pony hunter reserve.

Abhar’s rider put in some beautiful trips over fences for reserve in the schooling hunter (and honestly I missed the TB placings) but she had some of her best rounds yet

London Fog’s rider was top three in each class in the lows, earning TIP champion, and was TIP champion in the limits as well.

Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice put in some lovely trips in the pony hunter and pony eq. This pony and her rider have worked so hard and are becoming great partners! Each round they figured each other out more and more and it was just so exciting to see the progress made by these two.

Southern Belle went off for her second redgate and put it some wonderful rounds with her two riders, earning good ribbons in good company. This pony is coming along so nicely and will be such a little star.

I have a very lovely horse (15.1) and green pony (14.2) coming available for onsite lease, offsite full paid lease or maybe *maybe* a sale to the right home.

Romeo is a sweet dorky gelding who has done a bit of everything from teaching canter and jumping to showing in the short stirrup-2’3. He has been vital in my program and definitely wants to have his own kid or adult

Georgia is a smart green mare who wants to learn and is game to try. She has been to a couple of shows and has taken to the show environment like she has done it all her life. Georgia is looking for a kid who wants a fun fancy pony who just needs show miles. Definitely scope for the division with this one.
