🥳 CONGRATS to our Member of the Month, Sandy!
✨ Why did you join Club Pilates?
“I had been struggling with back problems, and physical therapy wasn’t helping. My manicurist told me Club Pilates was opening in Lincoln Park, so my husband and I decided to join. We were hooked immediately! Best of all, my back improved dramatically, and in a little over a month, I was pain-free. Pilates offered such a comprehensive workout that it quickly became my favorite form of exercise, and it still is today.”
✨ How long have you been practicing Pilates?
“I joined Club Pilates Lincoln Park about a month after it opened 10 years ago. I will always be grateful to Abby!”
✨ What significant changes/benefits have you seen since starting Pilates?
“Aging can be challenging, and I depend on Pilates to keep me strong and flexible. When I walk into class, I let my instructor take over so all I have to do is focus on every muscle required. I never leave without feeling refreshed and renewed, and often tired from a great workout! Building strong abs has also helped keep me almost pain-free. I look at Pilates as the lifesaver that keeps me in balance.”
✨ What is your current fitness goal?
“My goal is to keep working hard to maintain my strength and balance.”
✨ What is your favorite Pilates exercise and piece of equipment?
“Planks, plus standing on the Reformer for side splits and lunges! My favorite piece of equipment is probably the Chair, but I also love TRX, and of course, the Reformer!”
✨ What advice would you give to someone who is trying Pilates for the first time?
“If you’re just starting, don’t be embarrassed to ask the instructor for help if you’re having a problem. If you can, taking a few private or semi-private classes can really help too.”
✨ Anything else you would like to add?
“Probably the best thing about Club Pilates is the instructors. I am never bored because I am always trying something new and challenging. I’m so grateful for my incredible teachers who are constantly learning and planning fresh ideas and challenges for class.”
