St Clair Bass

At the launch this morning, I was blessed with a chatterbait made by Dan. I wish the smallies were in a chasing mood today, but alas, they were not. At least on sub surface anyway. Did nail a Musky in 3 ft of water on the first cast though. This color may come through in turbid water. I'll keep throwing it until I find out where it fits in the bite range. Thank you Dan!

Am I the only one that feels like a largemouth bass magnet on Lake St. Clair lately? I deserved the one I got today, though.🤔 Threw a floating Craw with blue flake because it was the only one I had on board.

Got back out to Fisher Bay to finish what I started last week. The largies were still there, and did manage to connect with yet another 3 1/2 lb smallie on a swimbait. Winds were high again from the NE. Didn't see a single bed. Have to check Goose Bay next.

Here's a nugget that didn't make the last report: I think we all know what this is, but I'll say it anyway...Cottonwood. The good news is that's the only piece I saw, the better news is that the start of the Cottonwood, means the start of a major increase in the topwater bite! (Wednesday)

Update: Driving down the road in my neighborhood, I was being showered with Cottonwood seeds. (Sunday)
