This afternoon, 2 of the oldest veterans organizations in Corpus Christi held a Flag Retirement Ceremony at our post. Sons of the American Legion Post 364 and Vfw Post 2397 and auxiliary were present for this ceremony. Thank you to the S.A.L. For providing your members and new flags.
Also we’d like to give a big thank you to Janet's Cakery - Corpus Christi for providing the cake as well, it was delicious as usual!

This morning at 9am, our veterans organizations along with our community attended the July 4th ceremony at Sherrill Veterans Memorial Park downtown. Definitely a great ceremony and turnout! Thank you to everyone who took the time to make this event. We will see y’all at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History in August for the Purple Heart Ceremony.

Yesterday our Members and Auxiliary Members were at the Downtown Corpus Christi artwalk, and held a Buddy Poppy Drive and Recruiting Event. Our auxiliary members baked cupcakes and setup all the individual cupcakes. Comrades Craig Ortega and Alejandro Benavides, along with our auxiliary sister Maria made it our first successful artwalk event! They worked out in the heat representing our post and auxiliary! Thanks to our community for supporting!

On July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was adopted, announcing that the thirteen American colonies were free and independent states. Each Independence Day, we celebrate the birth of our nation and the enduring principles of liberty, equality, and self-government that continue to inspire generations.
As we gather with family, friends, and neighbors, we also pause to thank the men and women who have defended our nation's freedoms through military service. Their sacrifices, and the continued service of Veterans in communities across Texas, help ensure that the ideals of our founding remain strong.
Whether you're attending a parade, enjoying a backyard barbecue, or watching fireworks light up the night sky, we hope you have a safe and meaningful Independence Day.
From all of us at the Texas VFW, Happy Fourth of July!

Generations of Americans have answered the call to serve, defending our nation through times of challenge and sacrifice. From the Revolutionary War to today's Armed Forces, their commitment has helped preserve the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars was founded on the principle that service does not end when the uniform comes off. Across Texas and throughout our nation, VFW members continue that legacy by serving Veterans, strengthening communities, mentoring youth, promoting patriotism, and honoring those who came before us.
Today, we celebrate not only America's birthday, but the generations of citizens and service members whose dedication has helped write our nation's story.
Happy 250th Birthday, America. May we continue to honor our past through service, unity, and a shared commitment to the ideals that have guided our nation for two and a half centuries.
