We saved this southern Indiana lacrosse powerhouse for the final HSLC program spotlight - and apparently for good reason.

With their recent state play-off victory against the St. Joe Huskies, the Evansville Memorial Tigers locked in their spot for the 1A State Championship matchup.

This will be the 3rd year consecutively in which Memorial has made it to the state 1A championship game, having won the title in 2024 against Brebeuf Jesuit and losing out in 2025 to Guerin Catholic after a hard fought battle. Memorial is in their 7th consecutive year making it to at least the semi-state round, proving they are a strong contender in Indiana lacrosse.

This year the Tigers rostered 39 players including 4 seniors, 3 of which will be continuing their athletic careers; Luke O’Donohue and Maddux Williams both committed to continue lacrosse at Wabash College and Connor O’Donohue committed for football at Hanover College.

Memorial Lacrosse played 13 games during the regular season as well as 2 state play-off games since. The Tigers are coached by Cliff Rogers. Cliff has been with the program as Head Coach since 2015, but involved since 2012.

Memorial’s regular season record is 9-4, however they are undefeated in the Hoosier Southern Lacrosse Conference and played some very competitive matchups outside of the area this season.

The Tigers play their final game of 2026 on May 30 at 5pm EDT at the Brownsburg High School stadium against the Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles, once again hoping to bring home the State 1A title.

As promised we still have two southern Indiana lacrosse programs to highlight before we finish out the regular high school season.

Today we take a look at Castle Lacrosse Club

This year Castle rostered 30 players including 2 seniors. The Knights played 11 scheduled games this spring and are coached by Tim Clark, who has been with the program since it's inception in 2009. This year, SISL's own Jonathan Kelly, a 2021 Castle Lacrosse alum, also stepped in to help the coaching staff before heading off to law school next fall.

The early spring started out looking strong for the Knights, however their tough end-of-season schedule combined with several close games proved to be a difficult finish to their 2026 season, ending 4-7 overall. However, the Knights have nothing to hang their heads about, as this team has a strong group returning next year.

The Knights played their final 2026 game on May 9 at Home against Heritage Christian.

We linked the full Castle Lacrosse schedule in our comments, as well as a link to TWO photo galleries from earlier in the season.

Special thank you to photographer Laura Stoltz Photography for volunteering her talent and time for this Southern Indiana Lacrosse Program!

The Larry Goldstein Player of the Year is awarded to a varsity boys’ lacrosse player who exemplifies excellence on the field, in the classroom, and in the community. This year’s recipient of the Larry Goldstein Player of the Year is North Boys Lacrosse Parker Daugherty.

Nominated by his coaches, Parker displays sportsmanship and leadership on the field. His coaches describe a high-character individual who constantly strives to do the right thing. His infectious, positive attitude makes him a joy to be around at practice.

Off the field, Parker is the same. He is described as a “go-getter” by his teachers. Serving in a variety of leadership roles in the Evansville area, Parker knows how important it is to give back to his community and be a role model for future leaders.

Parker’s actions and character on and off the field clearly encapsulate the meaning of the Larry Goldstein Player of the Year.

Southern Indiana Select Lacrosse is privelaged to be presenting this award to Parker at the North Lacrosse End-of-Season Banquet.

Congratulations to all candidates who were nominated by their coaches. Being nominated for this unique award is truly an honor and we commend each candidate on that achievement.

Congratulations Parker!
