Mobility and flexibility are NOT the same thing. 👀
You might be able to get into a deep stretch but struggle to actively control that same range of motion. That’s where the difference becomes important.
Flexibility is primarily about how much a muscle and surrounding tissues can lengthen.
Mobility is about how well you can actively move and control a joint through its available range of motion.
For example, you might be able to pull your leg high with your hands because you have good flexibility. But can you lift your leg that high without assistance and control it there? That involves mobility, strength, and motor control.
Neither is “better.” Your body benefits from having both.
Flexibility can give you access to a range of motion. Mobility helps you use that range effectively and confidently.
That’s why simply stretching isn’t always the answer when a movement feels limited. Sometimes your body needs a combination of mobility work, strength, coordination, and control.
The goal isn’t just to move farther. It’s to move better. 💪
