Introducing our very first guest on JW+ “Untold Stories” — Mike Powell.
The man behind one of the greatest performances in track and field history.
In 1991, during one of the most iconic competitions the sport has ever witnessed, Powell jumped 8.95m, breaking Bob Beamon’s legendary world record. More than three decades later, the record still stands.
But this conversation goes far beyond 8.95m.
We dive into his legendary rivalry with Carl Lewis, the mindset it took to become the best in the world, what really happened on that unforgettable night in Tokyo and why Mike believes he was capable of jumping even farther.
Get ready for almost two hours of pure, unfiltered conversation.
The stories. The rivalry. The mindset. The moments the world never heard about.
This is Mike Powell’s story, in his own words.
🎙️ JW+ “Untold Stories” with Mike Powell — out August 26.
