Over our 175 year history, the Y has established many programs and activities that have brought together communities from all over the world.

While ESL programs were created up at YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, their legacy has migrated down here to South Florida through the different languages spoken across all our family centers.

At our Veterans Day Salute Breakfast, we're honoring heroes like our Keynote speaker: Captain Charlie Plumb. 🛩️🇺🇸

Captain Charles Plumb is a former United States Naval Aviator who was a Prisoner of War for 2,103 days during the Vietnam War. He has endured extreme hardship and used that experience to transform his life in a profound way. Captain Plumb flew F-4 Phantoms and helped develop the Navy Fighter Weapons School— commonly known today as “Top Gun.” His military honors include the Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts, and the P.O.W. Medal. 🏅

This weekend is about water safety. Our 10th-Annual Beach Ball Gala supports swim lessons for our communities— it's only because of your generosity that we can provide these lessons at our pools, including our new Barbara and Phillip Wong Aquatic Center that opened this summer at South Dade YMCA Family Center. The very same weekend we opened our South Dade pool deck, swim lessons swiftly followed (seen in the picture here).
