It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and take life way too seriously.

We’re constantly moving, working, planning, worrying about the next thing… and sometimes we forget to just have fun.

To be silly.
To laugh at something stupid.
To dance around the house.
To play music way too loud.
To do something just because it makes you happy.

You know… the stuff we did when we were kids before everything had to have a purpose.

I think we need more of that.

The world moves fast enough. We don’t always have to.

So slow down. Take a breath. Go do something that makes you smile for no other reason than it feels good.

You’re allowed to have fun.
You’re allowed to be silly.
You’re allowed to be a kid sometimes.

Don’t forget that part of yourself.

7 years ago, I started my dread journey.

The plan was always to let them grow all the way to the ground.

Well… I’ve finally accepted that my hair has other plans.

My hair has always been pretty thin, and it was already slowly disappearing before I started this journey. Now the weight of my dreads has started pulling on my hair and creating some patches.

And honestly, that scares me.

I love my hair. And yes, these are 100% my natural hair.

From the very first dread, something shifted for me. I felt this weird sense of freedom. I became more comfortable in my body, more comfortable in my mind, and in a way, it felt like I had awakened a part of myself I didn’t even know was there.

This journey has never really been about a hairstyle for me.

It’s been about starting over from the roots. Literally and figuratively. It’s been about finding a version of myself that I’m proud of and actually feel comfortable being.

So hopefully, this journey still has a long way to go.

But right now, my hair is asking me to let go of some length. If cutting them back gives my roots a chance to recover, regrow, and get stronger, then that’s what I need to do.

I’m just not sure why I’m so nervous about it.

It’s not like I’m saying goodbye to my dreads.

But it does feel a little like I’m breaking a promise I made to myself 7 years ago.

So… fingers crossed this is the right move.

And hopefully, I get another 7 years.

I'm stoked for this weekend!!!

Tomorrow, 8/29, we’re getting in the pool for a Floating Sound Bath + Yoga Flow at a private pool.
Yana Mint will be leading us through a gentle pool yoga flow, and then we’ll settle in for the sound bath. I’ll be bringing the gongs, bowls, and some of my other favorite sound healing instruments.

Yana is also bringing some bowls and other goodies, so we’ll be co-facilitating this one and holding space together.

This event is open to the public and members, and we still have a few spots left!

Then Sunday is the last Sunday of the month, which means it’s time for our monthly Aerial Sound Bath.

This month is currently sold out, but we don’t have anyone on the waitlist yet. So if you’ve been wanting to check out an aerial sound event, go ahead and jump on the waitlist. There’s always a chance someone has to cancel at the last minute.

I know I’ve been talking a lot lately about leaving the nightlife world and moving into a slower, healthier chapter of my life.

But just because my path has changed doesn’t mean I stopped loving that world.

I have nothing against clubs, big parties, or the people who are still creating those spaces. Honestly, I love that there are still people doing it the right way and giving the next generation a place to discover movement, music, and vibration for themselves.

There are definitely days when I miss being a part of it.

I still make music. I still DJ. I still listen to the music that made me fall in love with this in the first place. The difference is I’m doing it on a much smaller scale and on my own terms.

And maybe that’s really where I’m at with it.

I don’t need to be in a club every weekend to still love this music. I don’t need thousands of people in front of me to enjoy playing a set. And I don’t need to prove anything to anybody anymore.

I can just make the music I love, play when I want to play, and enjoy that part of myself without needing it to be my entire life.

I spent a lot of years chasing this.

Now I think I’m finally at a place where I can just enjoy it.
