A preschool dance program for kids 2-5, a full dance program for kids 6+ with a teen performing dance company (by audition) and a huge host of ADULT CLASSES!!!! We believe in community. We believe in friendship, kindness and inclusion. We believe in passion, dedication, commitment and hard work. We believe that a dancer isn't just a technician but an artist. We believe in being good mentors and creating new ones for the next generation. We believe in the arts and their power to transform and shape our world for the better. PERFORMING COMPANY: My goal at VDC is to provide training and classes for performers that want to make this a serious part of their lives. There still is and always will be a way to take recreational classes at VDC. But for those performers that have the performer “bug” and are hungry for it, we want to create the pathway for their futures. We offer a chance to compete if desired, combined with conventions so that they are truly educational experiences. VDC also has a Hip Hop team that performs at Monsters and participates in their convention weekend. We are seeking legitimate performance opportunities such as festivals, locally produced shows, community events and more things that come our way as well as our own shows and student choreography showcases. Performances have consisted of events such as The Denver Children's Hospital, Ullergrass Music Festival, Golden's Candlelight Walk, VDC's two annual performances and the Colorado Railroad Museum’s Polar Express! Company is a big commitment and regular attendance is a must. We know many of you are ready for this next step! Two ballet classes plus company repertory (choreography) classes are required plus 2 more technique classes such as Theatre, Jazz, Hip Hop, Slackline Performance or Tap. They are open to unlimited classes so they can and are encouraged to take as many as they want. Dance styles include Jazz, Modern, Contemporary/Lyrical, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop/Break Dance and Musical Theatre. We offer dance conditioning for adults as well as Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary/Lyrical, NIA and more! Nutrition: Amanda is also a trained Nutritional Therapist, using holistic and whole-food sensibilities to heal with food! Help will be available for general nutrition, weight loss, disease management, athletic nutrition is available! A word from Amanda: From as far back as I have memories; I have known my passion for dance. It is an art form that has no boundaries, no prejudices and no need for words. It can touch the most unlikely spectator. To move on stage is to truly know freedom. Nothing in this world excites me more than seeing a human being moving their body in a way that makes my heart ache, that tells me their story without ever speaking out loud.
