The ACSL Stride for Service 5K - Saturday June 6 - Elon

The Alamance County Service League's annual Stride For Service 5K raises money to uplift disadvantaged neighbors through community partnerships, volunteer work, and direct local support. A worthy cause, a friendly course, and a great Saturday morning option if you are based south of the I-40 / I-85 split.

The NC BK5K will be held on June 6th, 2026 in Greensboro.

Our mission of supporting area youth is possible because of the community support, and all proceeds go to various 501.c.3 youth organizations/programs demonstrating financial need. Funding grants will be evaluated for merit and dispersed by the local BK5K Youth Fund Award Committee. ​​​​​​​

The Long Life Meal Prep Cannonball Running Festival is 19 weeks out. If you are aiming for the marathon, the standard 18-week build kicks off next week . This is your last easy week before the real volume starts climbing.

This week's tip: lock in your plan before the block begins. With the 18-week build starting next week, use these next few days to pick a plan, mark your long-run days on the calendar, and find a buddy or club to share the miles with. The build is easier when it is on paper and shared with someone else. What better day to commit than Global Running Day?

The Running Festival offers the marathon, half, 10K, 5K and Kids Dash, plus the famous Double Barrel challenge: run Friday's 5K and Saturday's longer distance for an extra medal and extra schwag. Two parties, one weekend. Lock it in.

This season has REALLY been a sprint!

Our season is typically a full calendar year, and we are going back to that, but ...
we are so excited that NOW our season will begin and end in June!

The series has grown so much thanks to AMAZING races, GREAT partners, FANTASTIC runners and so SO much love of and within the running community!

Ending in and restarting in June made this season a SPRINT (shortened) season. It is amazing how much you all showed up and with 1 race left, how big of a pool of candidates will qualify for awards! (With the short season 3 races are the qualifier versus 5 in the full year!)

It is with a happy heart and open invitation that we hope the 181 who are at two races get that third race next weekend and get the invite to the celebration and qualify for awards.

The Race Series proves you can be fast or consistent or both and be celebrated.

Shout outs to for being our #1 supporter and for keeping us moving no matter what life puts in front of us.

Cannot wait to share the full season with you all and CELEBRATE what running brings to our lives!

AAZK Zoo Dash 5K takes participants through the Zoo at the Greensboro Science Center before crossing that finish line and celebrating! Registration is required! 7:30 AM Start from Jaycee Park.

They Why Not Run Club is celebrating their 1-year anniversary and you are invited! Free to attend. Start/Finish at Bottles & Pints/Greensboro Sports Performance. 8AM Start
