The G-Men come up with the 7 to 6 win against the Brew Crew at Leonard Rec Center. There was a near riot as the capacity crowd were disappointed that career Hall of Famer Bob Bonnett was a no show. Daniel Tanner started on the bump allowing just 3 runs in 4+ innings. Eric Gunzenhauser came in for the final 3 innings for the save. Pat Bowen and Jarrett Santos attended.

The G-Men get back in the Win column after losing a heart breaker to the Tiburones last week. D Tanner was a little rusty against the Tiburones giving up 1 run on 6 hits over 5 innings. The tall, svelte righty gave up an unearned run early in the 1st inning on 1 of 2 errors the Giants committed in the game. But that was all the run support the Tiburones needed as the G-Men quietly stuck out 13 times to lose the game 1-0. The Giants Upper Management will be looking into the lighting situation at the field, We're positive the 1 light that's out on the pole behind the visitors dugout was the reason for all of those K's.

The Giants welcomed the Winston-Salem Spirits on Monday night. It wasn't a warm welcome though as the Gunnzenhauser twins combined for a 2 hit shutout of the Spirits in a 5-0 Win. Eric went 6 innings giving up 2 hits, 2 BB with 4 strike outs. The sexier Gunz finished the game with 1 strike out on the 6 batters faced. That will put the folks that took his over/under strikeout season total at 1 in jeopardy. KJ and Giants rookie Obeso had multiple hits in the game for the G-Men.

Next up for your Triad Giants are the Carolina Fireballs next Wednesday at 6:45 @ the HP Athletic Complex (Ed Price Field) if they can muster up enough players off work release to get there. I think the field is far enough inside the county lines that the ankle monitors shouldn't trigger the authorities...

Opening Day for your Triad Giants yesterday taking on the Triad Sun Devils at BMHS. Contest was originally scheduled for HP Athletic Park but due to field conditions, moved to Bishop where the grounds crew had this cathedral of men’s league baseball in pristine shape. Anyway, onto the game… The G-Men came out a little rusty with the bats in the first 2 innings only plating 2 runs. But the return to the mound for E Gunz was the story. The righty with the new bionic leg kept the Sun Devil offense at bay all night only allowing 5 runs on 7 hits with 5 strikeouts as the G-Men rallied behind him for the 23-5 win. Santos led the offense going 2-4 with 2 doubles and driving in 4 RBI’s on the night. Several others had multi-hit game for the Giants.

Next game is against the Triad Tiburones on Wed Apr 5th at 6:45 @ Stoner-White in Greensboro where it will be Bill Stevens Look-a-like night. So anyone who looks like Bill, or knows him will get free admission (no rain checks and no refunds for knowing him).

Reminder that the Over/Under raffle for how many RBI’s Santos will have at the end of the season, which is set at 7, is still in effect. He has 4 after game 1 and the Giants Upper Management is still going with the Under…

The G-Men came to play today! In the annual Greensboro Grasshoppers stadium game, the Giants pulled the double header. In true g-men managerial genius, Coach Santos pitched everyone on the roster and even a few from the crowd may have got an inning or two in. Either way, the Giants tallied 2 victories today beating the Sun Devils 5-0 and the Spirits 11-0. We aren’t sure the exact score of game 2 since once we hit double digits we don’t count so good. None of that matters as the Giants roster combined for two shutouts on the day. Daniel Tanner started Game 1 and Marcelle Milner was on the bump to start Game 2. Not many highlights to mention because I wasn’t really paying too much attention, but we did well enough to score some runs. Pat Bowen was hounded by some of our younger fans for an autograph, so sorry kid for the devaluing that baseball. Next game is a playoff elimination game vs the Tiberones Monday night at BMHS with a 7:15 start time. Ice up fellas… Here is the 2022 Triad Giants team finger gun photo. Your welcome.
