Meter Milestones: Our 6amers are killing it. Ken Pelanda sent me a text this morning after the class, telling me that Jack Turner hit 24 million lifetime meters during the class. He attached this picture showing Jack holding up his fingers to indicate 24. He then sent me a follow-up text saying, oh by the way, Bob Smith passed 23 million sometime during the recent Concept2 challenge. That is Bob in the blue shirt in the back. Our loyal, dedicated 6am rowers in the picture, going from left to right are: Cathy Pendergrass, Jack Turner, Ann Moore, Bob Smith, John Pendergrass and Ken Pelanda.

Congratulations, Jack and Bob. Your certificates are already printed and will get hung up later this morning at the studio. Row on, folks, row on!

Meter Milestone: Lynda Pelanda

This morning, Ken Pelanda led the 9:15 class. One of the rowers in his class was his wife, Lynda. At the end of the class, Lynda says "oh, by the way, I went past 7 Million Lifetime Meters". I asked her if she hit it today and she said no, I hit it several weeks ago but forgot to tell you.

Just printed her certificate and she hit it on October 9th. That certificate will go up this afternoon. Congratulations, Lynda, on a job well done. Here is a picture from after the class today.

The awesome GIR Crew has done it again. The final results are in from the Concept2 Fall Team Challenge. It ran from September 15 to October 15. There were 105 teams worldwide that competed in the Health / Fitness category.

Once again, our incredible team of rowers took first place by rowing 12,382,382 meters during the challenge. That was just a little over 3 million meters more than the second-place team. Our people never cease to amaze me. We work hard, we row a lot of meters, and we have a great time doing it.

Well done, everyone. Row Strong and Live Long!

Meter Milestone: Joe White

Last night, in our 5:45 class, Joe White hit the 3 Million Lifetime Meter mark. Joe comes in, sits down and quietly goes to work. Well done, Joe, just keep on doing what you do. Congratulations!

Your new certificate is printed and will go up later today.

Here is Joe on the left, with his instructor from last night, Bill Iannone.

Meter Milestone news; Rhonda Stevens

This morning in Helen Ingram's 9:15 class, Rhonda went past the 3 Million Lifetime Meter mark. She had set a goal for herself to hit this number by a certain point in time. She has been working really hard to reach that goal and now it is accomplished!

Way to go, Rhonda, those efforts have paid off. Well done and now it is on to your next goal. Row Strong and Live Long!

Here is a shot after the class with her rowing buddies from today. Rhonda is the one wearing the hat. From the left we have:
Sara Bowne, Colleen Hinton, Rhonda, Instructor Helen Ingram, Laura Barry and Alex Hof.

Meter Milestone: Holly Champaign

We had an open rowing session this afternoon as a part of the Concept2 Fall Team Challenge. Holly hosted that open row. I had asked her to send me a picture of the sign-in sheet after the session. She sent the picture and said nice turnout.

But, she also said, "Also, I hit my 4 million meters today".

Congratulations, Holly, very nicely done. Your certificate is printed and will go up soon.

Meter Milestone: Peggy Carver

Peggy was one of the first people to arrive ahead of this morning's 9:15 class. She came into the office to show me on her phone how close she was to her next meter milestone. It surely didn't take long once she started rowing to hit her 11 Million Lifetime Meter mark!!

Congratulations, Peggy, on a great accomplishment. Row strong and live long! Your new certificate will go up this afternoon. Here is Peggy and me after the class.

Meter Milestone: Ruth Pollow

When I got to the studio this morning, I found a small sticky note that said: "Lowell - I reached 3 mil on Sept 7. Could you please update my plaque? I can't reach it to take it down! 😄 Ruth Pollow"

Absolutely, Ruth. Congratulations on hitting 3 Million Lifetime Meters. I just printed your new certificate and will hang it up when I go to the studio in the morning. Well done, Ruth.
