Sometimes we assume that if someone needs help, they’ll ask; but it’s not always that simple. Some women are afraid of what might happen if they speak up. Some are worried they won’t be believed. Some don’t know where to turn. And some have become so used to surviving each day that asking for help doesn’t even feel like an option. And here’s something I hope we remember: A woman can smile, go to work, raise her children, show up for everyone else, and still be struggling with something nobody knows about. That’s why kindness matters. That’s why listening without judgment matters. And that’s why creating safe spaces for women matters.💜
We don’t have to know every detail of someone’s situation to treat her with compassion. And if a woman does trust us enough to share what she’s experiencing, I hope we listen without telling her what she should have done or what we would do in her shoes. Sometimes the first step toward getting help is simply knowing someone will believe you. If you or someone you know is struggling, please say something.🙏🏾💜
