Art improved to 2-0 last night with a tko in the 3rd after a hard fought fight. It was 1-1 going into the 3rd and he was exhausted but dug deep and showed a lot of heart and toughness to pull out the win!
Art told me in the corner after the first round that he broke his middle finger. Ended up being dislocated but he fought most the 1st and the last 2 rounds with it. Those things happen in a fight but I was proud that he didn’t let it deter him from performing. You never know how those obstacles will affect someone and this stage. Which only adds to him digging deep in the 3rd to get the win.

2-0 and moving on to the next one! Better each day

I’ve learned in my years of coaching that wrestling creates a lot of kickboxers and striking creates a lot of sport bjj guys. I have the utmost respect for anyone that trains a martial art but there’s something special about the guys that try to be complete martial artist.
I love and appreciate all the guys that do mma and want to get better at a sport that is almost impossible to master. Every individual art is tough on their own and all have their place, but combining them is even harder. Being smart and tough is not an easy combination to find.
Most people’s body types lend them to be better in certain aspects of the game and I love the puzzle that goes along with that. To some fighting seems barbaric but to be good at the sport, you have to be smart. Your fight IQ will carry you a long way.
I love being around likeminded people who embrace the suck and come out better men in the process. You’ll never be the hammer until you’ve spent your time as the nail.

Here’s a submission to try the next time you’re in north/south. I’ve had a bunch of success with it because no one suspects it’s coming. Give it a shot and let me know what you think.

randyshores22 came to me about a month ago wanting to join the team. It’s been a pleasure having him in the gym with his energy and hard work. I’m excited to see what the change can bring and get the train back rolling! I except a hard fight with no quit while showing off some new wrinkles we’ve been adding
