If a tree falls and causes damage, who is responsible?

It depends on where the tree lands and why it fell. In many cases, the owner of the damaged property files a claim with their own insurance. However, if the tree owner failed to address a known hazard, they could be responsible.

One of the best parts of fall as a kid was jumping into a big pile of leaves! 🍂

As the leaves begin to fall, please remind children to play only in piles located safely in the yard- never in or near the street. Drivers should also avoid driving through leaf piles, as a child or animal could be hidden inside.
