Do you feel the subtle shift in the air, the smell and sounds of the new school year is quickly upon us.

Are you dreading your morning commute? Are you already thinking about the heavy traffic, crammed trains and the school buses?

You may have already started to see the “out of office” replies slowing down as staff members quickly trying to soak up what’s left of the summer days.

Summer’s ease is quietly giving way to the reality of the year’s second half.

Whether you’re sending a child off to a first day, launching a graduate into the unknown, standing in a suddenly quiet house, or simply rerouting around those yellow buses, we are all standing at a threshold this month.

I have learned that transitions handled on autopilot cost you. Transitions handled on purpose transform you.

So before you rush into fall, pause at this threshold.

What season are you stepping into? Tell me below.

Have you ever had a manager tell you they value you?

Not your work, you!
The person you are and the impact you make on them and the organization.

I can tell you, those conversations have stayed with me forever.
They motivate me in ways I can't fully put into words.

It isn't that I need approval from others. It's that something shifts when someone genuinely sees and values your worth.

Your sense of belonging deepens. Your loyalty grows. The purpose behind what you do and how you deliver it intensifies, because those bonds become the foundation you stand on.

This is why there are certain leaders I would work for again in a heartbeat if they called me tomorrow. That decision wouldn't be driven by pay or title. It would be driven by one thing: they understood my value as a whole person.

I want to leave every leader with this, people don't give their best to those who use them. They give their best to those who see them.

So let me ask you: have you ever had a manager or leader who made you feel truly valued? And just as importantly are you becoming that kind of leader for someone else?

Wednesday Quick Tip 💙

What if the key to finishing strong isn't doing more but protecting what matters most?

This week, guard one block of time for rest, reflection, or renewal. Margin isn't a reward, it's the fuel that helps you lead well.

"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free." — Galatians 5:1

💬 What's one block of time you'll protect this week?

The calendar says one week left in July.
Your heart may already be somewhere else school supply lists, carpool schedules, the mental gymnastics of "how will we juggle it all" come September.

But before we rush into the hustle, let's pause here.

I've come to see August as a season of newness.
Not quite the fresh page of January, but something softer a month where we can still catch the summer breeze, take the trip, linger a little longer at the beach with the people we love.

It's an invitation to rest and to prepare. To exhale before we inhale for what's next.

As leaders, we carry a quiet tension: the pull between who we are at home and who we are at work. And if we're not intentional, one will quietly consume the other.

So my prayer for us this week is that we don't trade our renewal for our to-do list. That we let summer restore us and then step into the fall with renewed focus, not depletion.

Have you ever felt like you're the hardest worker in the room and still feel stuck.

Here's the adjustment most high-performing professionals skip: they change their level of effort, but never their strategy.

When things don't go the way we hoped, our instinct is to work harder. Longer hours. More hustle. More force.

We treat effort like it's the missing ingredient.
But the most effective leaders don't just push harder they pause long enough to ask what actually needs to change.

Effort was never your problem. You have plenty of effort.

The real question for this next season is: what's the ONE strategic shift that would actually make the difference?

Sometimes the most spiritual and most strategic thing you can do is stop repeating an approach that isn't working.

Your diligence honors God. But so does your wisdom to change course.
Where might He be inviting you to stop pushing harder and start leading differently?

Sometimes the hardest part isn't taking the leap... it's taking the first step.

If there's something you've been putting off because it feels too big, try making it smaller. One email. One conversation. One question. That's enough for today.

God isn't asking you to have the whole plan figured out. He's simply asking you to trust Him with your next step.

What's one bold step you'll take this week? I'd love to hear it in the comments. 🤍

Yesterday, the world tuned in for the World Cup Final. 🏆

As I watched the closing ceremony and reflected on the whole tournament, one thing stayed with me: the team that lifted the trophy wasn't the one with the brightest stars. It was the strongest team.

So many moments moved me. Players who were brave enough to openly display their faith. Athletes unafraid to show their vulnerability. True perseverance in the face of trial.

There was a display of unity across nations I'm not sure I've ever witnessed on such a major stage, a moment where everyone saw each other simply as people, as human, reminding us of what humanity can be at its best.

As I step into this week, I don't want those lessons to slip away just because the tournament is over.

The greatest wins rarely come from individual brilliance, they come from unity, character, and the courage to be fully who we are.

So let's carry it forward: the love, the camaraderie, the care for one another, and most importantly, the freedom to show others who we really are at our core.

That's the kind of leadership that changes rooms, teams, and lives.

Burnout doesn't always look like giving up.

Sometimes it looks like smiling through another meeting, checking every box, and wondering why you still feel exhausted.

Halfway through the year, maybe the answer isn't to push harder. Maybe it's to pause long enough to ask where you're leading from.

Are your decisions rooted in who you are... or in what you're afraid of?

"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." — Proverbs 4:23 🤍

Take a moment today and check in with your heart, not just your to-do list. What's one thing you need to release before stepping into the second half of the year?

For years, I carried a belief that my worth was tied to my output.
If I wasn't producing something at work, at home, everywhere, I didn't feel valuable.

That belief made me a high performer. It also nearly made me a very burned-out one.

The thing I finally had to set down wasn't a task on my list. It was a lie I'd carried so long I'd mistaken it for truth.

Naming it was hard. Releasing it to God was harder. But that's the day everything shifted.

I began examining the why behind my actions and decisions. And slowly, I saw it: my value was never tied to what I do. It's rooted in who I am.

It isn't earned by my performance or granted by anyone's opinion of me.

I am the one who gets to define it. And so are you.

Friend, what are you carrying that you've mistaken for truth? 🤍

Happy Friday everyone! We spend so much time chasing the next goal that we forget to acknowledge how far we've already come.

Before you jump into the weekend, take a moment to celebrate the small wins, extend yourself a little grace, and simply rest.

You don't have to earn rest. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is pause.

What's one win you're grateful for this week? Share it below.
