Kate Pops is one of our families we have been teaching swim lessons to for a few years. She makes amazing Cake pops and other desserts in Mandarin. She has a cottage bakery open Friday-Sunday on her driveway. Please consider going by - she is donating all her proceeds this weekend to a dear friend of her and her family who loss a child this past week. Katie Hilbert
This weekend at the cart, ALL proceeds — every single penny we make — will go directly to the Gaona family in remembrance of their sweet boy, Rowan. 🤍
Chelsea was our family’s beloved nanny for over a year, but somewhere along the way she became so much more than that. She became one of my absolute dearest friends, and Rowan quickly became part of our family too.
Because of Rowan’s health conditions, their family was denied life insurance for him. No family should ever have to experience the unimaginable loss of a child — and they certainly shouldn’t have to carry the financial weight that comes with it while trying to grieve.
Ben is a beloved band director right here in St. Johns County, and Chelsea has spent so much of her life loving and caring for other people’s babies, including mine. Now it’s our turn to show up for them.
My heart is completely shattered for this family. I can’t take away their pain, but I can strap on my apron and make a ridiculous amount of cake pops. So that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
Please, please help me show up for them this weekend. Come buy pops. Share this post. Repost it. Comment anything to help it reach more people. Pray for Chelsea and Ben. Whatever you can do matters.
I have watched this community show up for my little bakery weekend after weekend. This weekend, I’m asking you to show up bigger than ever — for Rowan. 🤍 🦁
*Once the GoFundMe is live, I’ll update this post with the link. For now, I’ve linked Chelsea’s Venmo directly for anyone who would like to donate.
