FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Historic Riverside International Speedway Welcomes USCS "Rumble at the River" Sprint Car Speed Spectacular this Saturday, July 18th
WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. - July 14, 2026 - For more than three-quarters of a century, Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, AR has been one of the most legendary dirt tracks in American motorsports. Since opening in 1949, the historic one-quarter-mile black gumbo clay oval has hosted generations of racing stars and passionate fans, earning a place among the Nation's most cherished racing venues.
Today, Riverside International Speedway continues that proud tradition under the ownership of Clayton Allen, who is celebrating his 20th year as owner of the historic speedway. Since purchasing the facility in 2006, Allen has worked tirelessly to preserve the track's rich heritage while continuing to provide exciting weekly racing for fans throughout the Mid-South.
This Saturday night, July 18, another chapter will be added to Riverside's storied history during its 77th continuously operating season, as the United Sprint Car Series (USCS) returns with the USCS "Rumble at the River" Sprint Car Speed Spectacular.
The event holds special significance for USCS founder and President, Pete Walton, a Memphis native, whose lifelong love of racing began at Riverside Speedway. Walton attended his first race at the speedway with his father in 1951, when he was approximately three years old. That childhood experience ignited a passion for the sport that eventually led him to found the United Sprint Car Series (USCS), which has become one of America's premier winged sprint car touring organizations.
"Coming back to Riverside has always felt like coming home, every time", said Walton. "This is where my love for racing began more than 70 years ago. It's special to bring the USCS back to the place that inspired me as a little boy.
Fans attending Saturday's event will witness the thunder and excitement of the high-powered, (750+ horsepower), USCS Winged Sprint Cars as they battle wheel-to-wheel at speeds exceeding 100 mph on one of dirt racing's most historic stages for the chance to park it in Victory lane..
The USCS "Rumble at the River" Sprint Car Speed Spectacular promises an unforgettable night of family entertainment featuring the nation's top sprint car drivers competing on the legendary clay oval that has thrilled race fans for generations. The tradition continues this Saturday night at one of America's truly iconic dirt tracks, where the past, present, and future of racing come together for another unforgettable evening at Riverside International Speedway.
Riverside International Speedway is located at 151 Legion Road, West Memphis, Arkansas. For race event information or venue details, visit the track’s website at riversideinternationalspeedway.com or uscsracing.com
