This is what it’s all about, and it couldn’t wait until Friday to share!!!⭐️ Yesterday, Paiton from Renaissance High School got her back walkover!!!🚨 It took a lot of convincing and some stern stares, but she MADE IT HAPPEN! And watching her team support her was just the cherry on top!🍒 I couldn’t be more proud of her effort and I so admire the love this team has for each other! Go Paiton!!🤩

It’s another Monday, and I am here to make it ✨motivational✨! This past week I have started an internship working with my university’s athletic teams and I wanted to share 5 things I have noticed from these NCAA Division 1 (some national champion) athletes.⭐️

1️⃣They NEVER complain.

These athletes show up and are eager to work hard. There is no “I don’t want to do this today”, or “ugh I’m too tired🫩”. They get there and get the work done with a smile on their face whether it is genuine or not. Excuses and problems are left at the door and they focus on the task at hand.🤩

2️⃣ They understand that movement is a PRIVILEGE not a punishment.

Just this morning I heard an athlete say to themself “this how I get better”. In the moment, it hurts. Your body gets tired, your muscles fatigue, and it can feel like you’re enduring a punishment.😣 However, the fact that your body is capable of that kind of movement is a privilege in itself. The fact that you get to compete is a privilege. The access to resources to allow you to get better is a privilege. Find gratitude in the struggle.💪🏻

3️⃣They do everything with INTENTION.

In Division 1 athletics, nobody does anything without intention. Building bodies to compete at an elite level is intentional, and every piece that goes into is it too.🥇Technique, form, and effort, are prioritized. Movements in the weight room correlate to movements on the competition field, and if they are done lazily and sloppily, you don’t get better. Period.👏🏻

4️⃣They never stop COMPETING.

Whether these athletes are competing with each other or with themselves, they always strive to be better. Adding weight, adding reps, pushing just a little bit harder to give themselves the edge required.🏋🏻‍♀️ It is a mindset that is necessary to make it to the next level. Is it exhausting? Absolutely. But is it worth it? 💯.

5️⃣They ENCOURAGE and lift each other up.

Truly, a team is only as strong as its weakest link. Rather than getting frustrated with their teammates, they take the initiative to help and encourage each other.👑 Thinking of others along with yourself, being vocal and loud in your support for them, and giving them a hand when they need it. Raising the standard for every athlete is a sure fire way to improve not only team morale, but team performance.🏆

I’m sure I will have more to say as I progress in this internship, BUT without a doubt, these athletes are on another level for a reason.⭐️

IT’S FLIPPIN’ FRIDAY⭐️ and today we are showcasing this week’s superstar, Jamira from Renaissance High School! Jamira has been working so hard to overcome her backhand spring mental mountain and on Tuesday, she did it! We even got her to try one all by herself!🚨 Keep pushing and keep working hard, the effort is paying off!🤩

It’s Motivational Monday and today we are talking about worrying!⭐️ Worrying truly is a useless thing. Either it will work out or it won’t. We control the things we can to reduce worry and we ignore the things we can’t. Things happen the way that they are supposed to, do your best to prepare, and the rest is out of your hands! Use your beautiful mind for beautiful things!✨
