8U MYBA Summer sizzler runner up🥈

Great weekend of baseball. Lost in the championship game to Revolution 11-9, in a great game. Tip of the cap to Revolution! Tough opponent, deserving champions.

This was our last tournament before going to Broken Bow World Series! I am proud of these boys and their commitment to the process this season. First season as a team, and we push them on the details and playing the game the right way, probably more than any other team their age. We have longer than normal practices, twice a week, and I am not a coach that cancels practice very often at all, once even practicing through a tornado warning. The boys, and their parents were pushed this season more than what is normal at this age. I’m sure there were complaints along the way from more than just my wife, but they kept showing up and kept grinding through the process.

We have played arguably the toughest strength of schedule in the state, not once playing in a tournament we felt we could just go dominate, and there were many we could’ve. It was always challenge them against the best teams we can find, rise to the level of the opponent, & develop by playing our best ball and winning, or going home empty handed and learning from our mistakes and losses. They were gritty today, just the way I like it!

World Series Party 🎉 for the 11U squad! We are excited to go compete at Broken Bow World Series June 10th - 14th! Thank you to the Henderson’s for hosting an amazing party! The boys had a blast!

We had a couple of Dawgs that hit some bombs 💣 this past weekend in the 5GG Memorial Day shootout! Great job to both!

Adam Stefansen comes through with a grand slam in the top of the 6th with 2 outs in a 4-4 game, such a clutch moment! Doesn’t surprise me though, and there will be many more times he comes through in his career.

Ivan Torres, after being sidelined with an injury for 6 weeks has came back without skipping a beat at the plate, and has hit .609 avg with a .654 OBP, including a line drive homerun over centerfield fence in only his second weekend back on the diamond.

12U USSSA Turf Monster Shootout Runner up 🥈

These boys played up into 12U this weekend, and fought until the final out. Very proud of how they played this weekend. 6 total games, 4 today & 3 were back to back to back. They were worn out, but they went to war with each other and they stayed together as a team better than I’ve seen them do all season in the championship game. They fought back just to lose in a walk off. Growth is found through failure and they’ll be stronger for it. They are playing great baseball right now. Proud of this team!

We challenge these boys at practice, and every weekend we play. We could go play in lots of different tournaments every weekend and win them, but we choose to chase the best teams we can find and challenge these boys. The end game, and development, will be much better in the long run than chasing rings. Set the standard high, and rise to the standard. This weekend was no different! A tournament loaded in talent and teams known to be some of the best in the state, and these boys were hunters this weekend! Great job, Dawgs!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our DAWG mommas! From late night practices, to early AM games, you all show up ready to support these young men. These boys may not realize it yet, but one day they will forever be grateful to have memories of their mom in the bleachers, and will understand the sacrifices made to always show up!
