Today we recognize Juneteenth — a day that commemorates freedom, resilience, and an important moment in American history.

On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, enslaved people in Texas were finally informed of their freedom. Juneteenth serves as a reminder that freedom, equality, and opportunity are worth celebrating and continuing to strive toward.

At Kent CrossFit, we believe fitness brings people together. Our community is strongest when people from all backgrounds feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to be their best selves.

Today, we honor the significance of Juneteenth, reflect on our shared history, and celebrate the strength that comes from unity and inclusion.

Sometimes the answer really is that simple.

Most people think they have a time problem when it comes to eating healthy, meal prepping, or reaching their nutrition goals. But when you break it down, it’s often a priority problem.

It takes minutes to chop vegetables.

It takes minutes to prepare meals for the week.

It takes less time to plan ahead than it does to constantly decide what you’re going to eat, make extra trips for takeout, or recover from another week of poor choices.

The reality is that we make time for the things we value.

This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about making small investments today that save you time, stress, money, and energy tomorrow.

Member of the Month: Jennifer

Jennifer is the kind of member every community hopes for. Consistently comes to class, driven in her goals, and always showing up ready to put in the effort with a great attitude.

But what stands out just as much as her work ethic is who she is as a person. She’s friendly, welcoming, and often the first person to introduce herself to anyone. That kind of energy helps make our community what it is.

Her consistency continues to pay off, and her drive pushes those around her to work harder too. We’re proud to have Jennifer as part of our gym family and excited to recognize her as our Member of the Month!

To all the moms who continue to make fitness a priority while juggling everything else — you are setting the standard.

Every workout, every class squeezed into a busy schedule, every choice to take care of your body is showing your kids that strength, health, discipline, and self-care are the norm — not the exception.

You are teaching them that strong is beautiful, movement is a privilege, and taking care of yourself matters.

You are fierce. You are inspiring. You are amazing.

Happy Mother’s Day to the moms leading by example every single day. 💐
