You Do Not Have to Be Fit to Start
One of the biggest lies people tell themselves is: “I need to get in better shape before I go to a trainer.”

No. That is why we are here.

You do not have to lose weight first. You do not have to become stronger first. You do not have to know how to use the equipment. And you certainly do not have to look like a bodybuilder.

You simply have to be willing to begin.

But here is the harder question: How much longer are you going to wait until you feel ready?

Another month will pass. Another season will pass. Another year can pass. And doing nothing is still a decision.

This Is What Consistency Looks Like
Season 11 is underway.

On August 1, I walked away from the Indiana State Championships and Premier Muscle with victories I am deeply grateful for.

But championships are not built on competition day.

They are built in the ordinary days.

The workouts nobody applauds.
The meals you prepare when something easier sounds better.
The recovery your body needs.
The days when motivation is high.
And the days when it is not.

Now the work continues.

I have two more competitions ahead of me this season: November 21 and December 6.

You may never step onto a bodybuilding stage. That is not the point.

The real question is: What are you preparing your body for?

More energy? Better health? Travel? Stronger legs? Less difficulty climbing stairs? The ability to keep up with your grandchildren? Or simply feeling like yourself again?

Here is the tension: Your goals will not happen because you keep thinking about them.

At some point, intention has to become action.

Discipline carries us where motivation cannot.

You do not have to become a bodybuilder. But you do need a plan for the body and life you want.

Sometimes the strongest transformations begin with a decision.

Jirmil Coleman is an NPC Men’s Physique competitor whose bodybuilding journey began during a period when he was frustrated with himself and where he was in life. Instead of allowing that frustration to defeat him, he made a choice: use it as fuel for change.

That decision developed into a lifestyle built on discipline, consistency, sacrifice and resilience — lessons that reach far beyond the gym.

Jirmil is no stranger to the competitive stage. He has competed at the NPC USA Championships and most recently stepped onstage at the 2026 NPC Premier Muscle & Indiana State Championships, where he placed 1st in State Class B in Men’s Physique.

This weekend brought victories on the bodybuilding stage, but it also brought an honor that touched my heart in a very different way.

The Women of Prestige Award celebrates women whose influence reaches beyond themselves—women who lead, serve, build, encourage, and create opportunities for others.

That is what makes this recognition so meaningful to me.

My life has never been about succeeding for myself alone. Whether through business, fitness, cancer survivorship, ministry, or community service, my prayer has always been that God would use my journey to strengthen and encourage someone else.

I am grateful to everyone responsible for this recognition and honored to stand among such accomplished women.

The trophies celebrate what happened on the stage. This award recognizes the purpose behind the journey.

One of the greatest honors of this weekend didn't happen on the bodybuilding stage.

Receiving the Women of Prestige Award reminded me that true success is measured by far more than trophies.

To be recognized alongside women who are making a difference in their families, businesses, professions, and communities is both humbling and inspiring.

Thank you to everyone involved in this incredible honor.

I accept this recognition with gratitude and a renewed commitment to continue serving others through faith, fitness, business, and community leadership.
