Two lines I need you to put on a sticky note right now...
The stage is where you get seen.
The 48 hours after is where you get clients.
Most speakers pour everything into the talk.
The prep. The slides. The opening line.
And then they walk off the stage and wait for the magic.
Y'all. The magic doesn't live on the stage.
It lives in what you do after you step off it.
βWhat does your post-stage follow-up currently look like?
Be honest. π

You have the expertise.
You get incredible results for the people you work with.
Your peers respect you. Your clients rave about you.
And yet... the right people still aren't finding you. You feel like the best kept secret in your industry...
You're doing some things. Showing up here and there. But nothing feels connected. Nothing feels strategic.
And your stage-driven visibility? It hasn't caught up with what you actually bring to the table.
Sound familiar?
You might be a Hidden Expert.
Not because your message isn't good enough. It is more than enough...
The real issue...you're showing up without a clear strategy, which doesn't convert.
And you deserve more than random results from random efforts. And so do your ideal clients...
The Hidden Expert is one of the most common starting points for my clients. And it's also the most exciting. Because it means you have the foundation....
What's missing is a clear, intentional strategy to get your message in front of the right people...consistently.
And that's exactly where we start.

As a true crime addict, I know the first 48 hours are everything...
Turns out the first 48-hours after every speaking engagement...are no different.
Momentum is still warm. You're still top of mind. Your audience is still thinking about what you said...and feeling the impact you made on them.
Here's what to do inside that window:
1οΈβ£ Send a genuine thank-you to the host. Plant a seed for what's next: referrals, repeat bookings, cross-promotions. Don't let that relationship go cold the second you walk out the door.
2οΈβ£ Connect with every new contact. Don't wait for them to find you. They're still thinking about your talk. They're still thinking about how you could help them. Meet them where they are while you're still memorable.
3οΈβ£ Deliver the thing you promised. The resource. The link. The next step. Make it easy for them to take action while the energy is still there. Friction kills momentum.
The stage is where you get seen.
The 48 hours after? That's where you get clients.
Most speakers nail the first part and completely skip the second.
Don't be most speakers.
π A little lemon for your sweet tea...
That 48-hour follow-up with your host? It's a great start. But it should not be your only touchpoint.
Past hosts are some of the warmest relationships in your network. They know you. They've seen you in action. They trusted you with their audience. That is not a one-and-done connection. That is gold.
In the Ember Phase, circle back to past hosts every 60-90 days. A genuine check-in. Provide real value. A piece of content you thought they'd love, a resource that's relevant to what they're building. Even a quick "hey, thinking of you."
Not to pitch. Not to ask for anything. Just stay present and keep the relationship warm.
Repeat bookings, referrals, cross-promotions...they're sitting right there. Most speakers just don't know they can go back for them.
Now you do. π

One Day Is Here. Your Audience...Is Waiting

Picture it... You just finished a speaking gig. The audience was engaged. Leaned in. Nodding along.
You step off your stage. People came up to you after. Someone grabbed your hand and said, "That was exactly what I needed to hear."
Absolute gold. You're on cloud 9. You smile all the way home...and you wait.
..and wait. And wait.
And nothing... Nothing happens. Not a single conversion.
Sound familiar? Maybe even uncomfortably accurate?
You're showing up. You're speaking. You may be doing 2-4 stages a month.
You're doing everything "they" told you to do.
And the clients? Still not coming.
Here's what I need you to hear right now. This is not a YOU problem.
It's not your talk. It's not your topic. It's not your confidence on stage.
It's what's happening in your Ember phase. After you've stepped off the stage...
Most speakers put everything into getting on the stage and delivering a great talk.
And that matters... but it's only one-third of the equation.
Another part is the system that turns every stage into the next opportunity.
The follow-up. The lead capture. The CTA that actually makes sense for where your audience is.
The relationship that doesn't end when the Zoom room closes, the lights turn off, and everyone goes home.
And this is often the gap I find with my clients. And it is absolutely fixable.
If you're showing up, speaking, and doing the work... but not seeing it convert into actual clients and income...
You're not broken. You're missing a system. And that's exactly what we fix.
Drop "SYSTEM" in the comments if this hit a little too close to home.

Y'all, let me clarify something. When I say "stage," I don't just mean a spotlight and a microphone...
I mean *YOUR* stage.
And your stage? It's anywhere you're talking to more than one person at a time.
Let me paint you a picture...
ποΈ The podcast you guested on last month? Your stage.
π€ The networking room where you introduced yourself to 30 people? Your stage.
π» The virtual summit where 500 people registered? Your stage.
π€ The panel discussion where you shared your expertise? Your stage.
π± The Instagram Live with 12 people watching? Your stage.
π The conference presentation where you held the room? You guessed it. Your stage.
And here's what I need you to hear...
βοΈ You don't have to do all of these.
βοΈ You don't have to start at the top of this list and work your way down.
βοΈ You don't have to wait until you feel ready for the "bigger" rooms.
The networking room with 8 people? That's enough.
The Instagram Live with 12 viewers? That's enough.
The podcast with 200 listeners? That's enough.
Wherever you are right now, you already have a stage. And you can use it NOW.
Not when you get the TEDx.
Not when you write the book.
Not when your audience feels "big enough."
Now.
The real question isn't "how do I get on a stage?"
It's "am I using the stages I already have access to, on purpose, with a strategy
that actually creates the impact AND income I'm called to make?"
That's stage-driven visibility.
The difference between the best-kept secret in your industry... and the go-to voice your ideal clients can't stop talking about?
βοΈ It's not more credentials.
βοΈ It's not a perfectly polished website.
βοΈ It's not waiting until everything feels ready.
It is getting your message in front of more than one person at a time, with intention. Starting...RIGHT FREAKING NOW.
If you're a purpose-driven business owner, speaker, or author who knows your message deserves more than the rooms it's currently reaching...
Your stage is calling. βοΈ

Hot take incoming... πΆοΈ
You could be on the PERFECT stage... right audience, right topic, right energy...
And still walk away with nothing.
Not because you weren't good enough. But because you made the wrong ask... or you showed up in a way that made your audience forget you the second they closed the tab.
And BOTH of those things are fixable.
I'm teaming up with virtual event expert Bernie DeSantis III on May 28th for a free 60-minute session that covers the FULL strategy...
I'm bringing the stage strategy:
βοΈ The 3 types of stages and what each one is actually designed to do
βοΈ Why most speakers leave money on the table every single time they speak
βοΈβοΈHow to match your ask to the right stage so it actually converts
Bernie's bringing the virtual expertise:
π‘ How to design a virtual experience that engages instead of puts people to sleep
π‘ The common mistakes that make presentations forgettable
π‘ How to turn audience attention into real conversations and opportunities

Y'all... most of you are sitting on a GOLD MINE and don't even know it.
I call it the Ember Phase. And it might be the most underused part of your entire stage-driven visibility pipeline.
Inside my signature framework, The Phoenix Effect, every contact moves through three phases:
π Spark: new connection, just met
π₯ Flame: booked, active, in the work
π¨ Ember: post-event, post-podcast, post-project
Here's what many people do with their Embers...
Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
They move on. Chase the next new lead. Leave all that warm relationship equity just... sitting there.
But here's what I know from 20+ years on the OTHER side of the stage:
Ember contacts are not cold. They're cozy.
And cozy rekindles FAST.
A past host who loved you is ONE short message away from:
βοΈ Booking you again
βοΈ Referring you to another host or friend
βοΈ Connecting you to someone who needs exactly what you do
You just have to reach back out.
In this week's Phoenix Effect newsletter, I'm sharing 4 word-for-word messages you can send TODAY to reignite your Ember relationships... without it feeling weird, salesy, or desperate.
These are the exact messages I use with my own clients. They work. π
Drop a β€οΈβπ₯ in the comments if you've got Embers you've been meaning to reach back out to...but weren't sure what to say.
And sign up for the newsletter so you don't miss the rest of the messages. Link in the comments!
