Nevada Desert Mermaids

The Desert Mermaids artistic swimming spring recital is this Sunday, May 10th, starting 3:30pm at Pavilion Pool in Summerlin! Doors open to the public at 3pm, tickets are $15 for entry, kids 10 and under free (must be accompanied by an adult), available at door or in advance online via link in bio (faster entry). We’ll have Kona Ice serving cold treats outside, and snacks/refreshments available for purchase inside. Come see what all of our teams have been working so hard all season to achieve!

Hosted by the Nevada Desert Mermaids, join us for a free recruiting event for boys, taking place Sunday, June 14th, 2:30-4:30pm at Pavilion Pool in Summerlin! Child shall be at least 4 years of age or older. Must have learned basic swimming skills and tread water in a deep pool, as well as be comfortable underwater.

While we regularly offer free trials and an annual season kickoff event for all (in August), it can be intimidating for young boys to get started in a sport dominated by women. With a supporting grant from the USA Artistic Swimming Foundation and ex*****on by our club, we present a dedicated event for young boys interested in artistic swimming.

This event will be led by our very own coach , coach .plotnitskaya , and visiting male athlete Kenny Gaudet . Kenny won a silver medal at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships, and at the age of 17 won a gold medal in the Mixed Duet category at the 2021 Junior Pan American Games. Combined, these talents consist of national champions, world medalists, Cirque du Soleil performers and more.

In addition to spending time in the water receiving an introduction to the sport, participants will learn all about opportunities with the team and beyond, including collegiate, national team, entertainment and more.

We’re looking for a swim coach to join our team! Our younger artistic swimmers need your professional instruction and guidance to improve their swim strokes and general skills. You need not have any knowledge or abilities in artistic swim (synchro), but must be 18+ and have some prior coaching experience. We swim at Pavilion Pool in Summerlin, several days a week, and it’s a paid hourly position. You’ll be reporting to a highly credentialed head coach who has led the USA Youth National Team five years running, and joining one of the top clubs in the nation.

Please join us in congratulating our head coach Ludi and her supporting staff Anna Yesipova, Bill May, and Laura Mase for winning the USAAS Coach of the Year award! The award was presented for recognition of their achievements leading the 2025 Youth National Team. We couldn’t be more proud to have our own head Mermaid leading the charge for our club and Team USA!
