[10/26/20]   Daytime Hours at Atwater Village Club
Starting tomorrow, Tuesday 10/27, Atwater TTC will be open during daytime hours, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 11am to about 2pm. Seniors' floor fee for that time slot will be $8, but they can also buy a monthly senior daytime pass for $65.

Hi All!
It's been a while since I had anything to post, but today I do:
We're adding a new table tennis location!
It's in Atwater Village (between Silver Lake and Glendale) - 5 minutes north of Downtown Los Angeles.
We had help from a good friend and a great supporter of our sport in finding a perfect facility, and Killerspin was very generous in agreeing to lend us tournament flooring for all courts.
I hope we'll see many of you there soon.

I wanted to give you a quick update on our first week of re-opening and some changes we’ll try out going forward.

Bullet points:
• Social distancing at TT is possible
• There was plenty of table time
• We’ll start a new system: “Open + reservations”
while maintaining safe practices

[06/17/20]   Our re-opening last night went well. Not knowing what the new system would feel like, we were a little nervous about it, but it turned out to feel almost like a regular Westside night. People made an effort to stay at distance. The 1.5 hour time slots seemed good. In fact, they provided more uninterrupted play than usual, because there was nobody waiting.

Thanks to all for helping the club get back on its feet.

I hope you're all holding up well. We're looking forward to reopening soon - hopefully. Meanwhile, last night things went in the opposite direction: Many of us found ourselves quarantined *and* under curfew for the first time in our lives! Perhaps some teenager might have been grounded, too, completing a trifecta.
I'll keep you informed.

So, after over 30 years of marriage, in which I’ve played with Wei maybe a couple of dozen times, I finally cornered her again. Today we made the difficult, but necessary decision to close Westside TTC until this COVID-19 thing blows over. As much as we all would like to continue our regular lives, it simply is not worth endangering anyone.
I'll post when we re-open, and I hope to see you all coming out in force to reclaim you lives from this damned critter!
