We'd like to announce the start of our 60th Anniversary Year during which we plan to have events marking this special year. We had a display of memories from our vault at the Scout Ball 2 weeks ago, we celebrated the date of the group's founding at rehearsal last week and now we'd like to invite you to enjoy our 50th Anniversary Show: Retrospect, available at the following link:

Szeretnénk bejelenteni, hogy megkezdődött a 60. Jubileumi Évünk, melynek során rendezvényeket tervezünk ennek a különleges évnek a jegyében. We’re organizing a small display for the lobby at the Scout Ball on the first of February and came across this article from 1985. We hope you find it as amusing as we did😊

Here are a few happenings since the year started: we had our annual golf outing, performed at a memorial and our teachers from 2018-2020, Denes and Vivien have achieved their Lifetime Golden Spurs and Necklace Award in Hungary (Congrats!). You’ll see us next at the Hungarian Scouts Ball on February 1st.

Last Sunday we’ve performed at the Silver Bell Ball at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Karpatok received an award from Antal Timea, the president of the Hungarian Heritage Foundation. Thanks for the opportunity and the recognition as we’re nearing our 60th anniversary!

We had an activity filled rehearsal yesterday. We got visited by Emese Gaspar, ex-member of Karpatok, on vacation after a tour by Vadrozsa ensemble on the East Coast. We celebrated the birthdays of Vicky and Janos  by saboring a bottle of champagne and enjoying some cake. We learned some new moves and practiced some old ones and finished the evening with watching the SpaceX rocket go up!

Last weekend we attended the Legacy show by Vadrozsa Ensemble from Hungary in New Brunswick NJ. Their show was truly inspirational. We especially enjoyed it since among the dancers were Vivien and Denes (our teachers for 2 years) and alum member of Karpatok Emese Gaspar. The music was played by Zagyva Banda we had a chance to perform with in May and their hosts were Livia and Tomi Schachinger. We ran into Eniko Bihari too so it turned into a real Karpatok reunion.

We were performing at the commemoration of the 1956 Hungarian revolution at the LA Magyarház on Sunday. We also enjoyed a concert by Zoltán Mága, World famous violinist and his band. Here are some pics before the show where his hand print and signature are cast in concrete for the wall of famous visitors of the club house. Also we presented him with a souvenir from the Karpatok Collection.
