We live in a world where hustle and achievement are often worn as badges of honor. But one of the most important things residency and medical training taught me is the importance of rest. The importance of living. The importance of being, not just doing.

I learned the hard way that breathing, resting, and simply being are just as important as doing. They are essential to taking care of yourself—and they become the foundation that allows us to keep growing, learning, serving others, and chasing our dreams.

So take this as a sign 🪧 to pause.

Take a couple of minutes, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, to simply breathe and just be.

You don’t always have to be doing something to be moving forward. 🤍

Pero una de las cosas más importantes que la residencia y la formación médica me enseñaron es la importancia de descansar. La importancia de vivir. La importancia de simplemente ser, y no solo hacer.

Aprendí de la manera difícil que respirar, descansar y simplemente estar presente son tan importantes como hacer. Son esenciales para cuidarnos y se convierten en la base que nos permite seguir creciendo, aprendiendo, sirviendo a los demás y persiguiendo nuestros sueños.

Así que toma esto como una señal 🪧 para hacer una pausa.

Tómate un par de minutos, estés donde estés y hagas lo que hagas, para simplemente respirar y estar.
