For years, people believed strength training and cardio couldn't coexist.
The truth is more nuanced, though.
The classic study by Hickson (1980) showed that combining high volumes of endurance training with heavy lifting could interfere with strength gains.
But later research, including the meta-analysis by Wilson et al. (2012), showed that the amount, type, timing, and programming of endurance training all matter.
Cardio Doesn’t Kill Gains. Poor Programming Does.

Do you need Zone 2 training?

This isn’t just an online training problem. I see in commercial gyms too, where trainers waste their clients’ time with bs exercises.
The basics still win.
Subtle variations of the basics still win.
Master exercise selection, apply progressive overload, and stay consistent.
You’ll get a lot farther than chasing the newest exercise making the rounds on social media.
