August 21 is a 2 tire night for Mid Am
August 28 is a 1 tire night for Street Stock

While racing is rained out for this weekend, Cheryl Hryn Racing 4 Kids is still passing out backpacks full of school supplies for the kids tonight Friday August 14th from 5:00pm - 7:30pm in the Commercial Building on the Fairgrounds!

After waiting as long as we possibly could for the forecast to change, we've once again made the difficult decision to cancel/postpone this weekends racing programs. We talked with everyone involved on the racing side of things and between the significant rainfall we've received this week and the additional rain expected we have no other choice but to cancel. With so many people in the area still dealing with flooding, storm damage and some still without power we wanted to make the decision as early as possible. Plus factoring in that a majority of the Midwest Truck Series and Mid-Am Racing Series teams come from out of state, we didn't want to delay a decision that was pretty much inevitable.

The Cheryl Hryn Back to School backpack giveaway will still be taking place at the track Friday from 5pm to 7:30pm in the commercial building. Kids (Pre-K - High School) must be present to get a backpack and it's first come, first serve until they run out.

The Five-O Racing Benefiting Special Olympics event will now take place on Saturday October 10th. Also on the 10th will be the Figure 8 Trailer Race of Destruction along with special non point events for the Pure Stocks, Crown Vics & one other class. Stay tuned for more info.

The Midwest Truck Series and Mid-Am Racing Series were not able to reschedule, so both races will be canceled. We hope to have the Midwest Truck Series back in 2027. The Mid-Am Racing Series has a 2nd scheduled race here and will be in action during the Bettenhausen Memorial weekend on September 19th.

PS #1 - VRS moving to 8/21 as part of double feature program
PS #2 - Moving to 9/4 as part of double feature program
SS - Moving to 8/28 as part of double feature program
CV - Moving to 9/18 as part of double feature program
SC - Moving to 8/21 as part of double feature program

In the next 48 hours, people who got tickets through the Ticket Hoss app should see their tickets transferred to the new date. If you can't make that date, you can request a refund through the app.

This Friday August 14th is Cheryl Hryn Racing 4 Kids Back to School Night where they'll be giving away free backpacks full of school supplies! The Juice Box racers will also be back Friday night.

We've also got an action packed night of racing featuring the D'Arcy Motors NASCAR Street Stocks, Action Truck Parts Crown Vics Special, Village Realty NASCAR Pure Stocks Challenge Series race and Double Features plus Super Cups.

Who's ready for the 5-0 Race to be the Fastest Cop??

It's one of Grundy County Speedway's most unique and entertaining events of the season! On Saturday August 15th current and former law enforcement officers climb behind the wheel of Crown Vic race cars to compete for the title of "Fastest Cop." Each driver represents their law enforcement agency while raising money for the Special Olympics. The more money a driver raises, the better their starting position in the main event. It's a fun competition for a great cause, with all proceeds benefiting the Special Olympics.

Also in action Saturday night is the Original Figure 8 Trailer Race of Destruction plus racing action with the Midwest Truck Series and Mid-Am Racing Series!

The Midwest Truck Series returns to Grundy County Speedway this Saturday August 15th for the Windy City Showdown! After making its long awaited return to Grundy for the first time since 2013 last season, the series is back for another exciting night of racing. As storm clouds rolled over the speedway one season ago, Brandon Reichenberger emerged victorious in a thrilling finish to capture the win.

The official entry list will be released in the coming days, but early indications point to a strong field of Midwest Truck Series competitors making the trip to the Land of Lincoln for Saturday night's showdown.

𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲!

This Saturday August 15th is the rescheduled Figure 8 Trailer Race of Destruction! It's also the annual 5-0 Race to Be the Fastest Cop, where local law enforcement officers battle it out for the Special Olympics plus we'll have two traveling series on hand with the Midwest Truck Series and Mid-Am Racing Series!
