When you work with a coach, you get options based on how you feel and what you have going on. Someone who knows your name and adjusts the work when your shoulder is bothering you or your back is tight.
That's what coaching brings. A person who watches you work and adjusts it when your body needs something different. You show up, we handle the rest.
If that sounds like what you've been looking for, book a free intro call. We'll talk about what's next for you.

We all experience the craziness. That is part of life.
Back-to-school season pulls the evenings apart, and the first two things to go are the workout and the dinner you meant to make. That does not mean you are a bad parent or that you lack the discipline to make good choices. It means there is a lot to do and nothing got decided ahead of time.
That is built into how Timber & Steel works. We ask how your week actually went, then build around the answer: fewer days, different times, a plan that fits the fall you are walking into instead of the one that looked good in June.
If your schedule is about to eat your training, come talk to us before it does. A free intro call takes 30 minutes and there is nothing to prepare.

How was your week? Has it already left you sore and tired?
That isn't small talk before class. It's the reason today's session might look different for you than for the person next to you. A rough week of sleep, a shoulder that's been barking, a stretch where you only made it in once. We'd rather know, because then we can change what you're doing today and you keep making progress instead of walking out feeling defeated.
A written program can't ask you that question. It's a good program sitting on a page, and it has no idea what your week did to you.
If you're wondering what training here would actually look like for your life, ask us. We'll tell you straight.

You've probably swung a kettlebell before. But has anyone ever actually taught you how?
Most people pick up kettlebell movements by watching someone else or figuring it out as they go. That works for a while. It also builds habits that quietly cost you power and put wear on joints that don't need it.
The Kettlebell Lab is two hours of focused coaching on kettlebell mechanics. Whether you've never touched one or you've been using them for years, you'll learn the fundamentals and sharpen your skills with a coach watching every movement.
Saturday, August 29, 11am to 1pm at Timber & Steel in Nampa. $40. Open to members and non-members. Limited to 10 people.

Amy bent down to pick up a washcloth, and her back went out. She couldn't walk without help. That's where her training story actually starts.
She came to Timber & Steel after years of moving at full speed on what she calls the "hamster wheel." Her goals weren't a number or a look. They were strength, flexibility, and mobility for the rest of her life. The kind of fitness that means picking up a washcloth, or a heavy box, without bracing for an injury.
When she mentioned in passing that she'd love to do a pullup someday, Bridgett heard her and started weaving the movement in. No pressure, no timeline. Amy couldn't even hang from a bar when she started. Now she's doing jumping pull-ups.
In her words: "All you have to do is try it out. We're probably your people."

We all quit sometimes. We all run into weeks when work, family, illness, or something harder takes priority over the gym.
The skill that matters isn't never missing. It's knowing how to start again without treating the gap as proof that working out isn't for you. If you're in one of those phases, pick one workout this week and start there.
