This week we are featuring Sensei Daetyn…

How old were you when you started Karate at Ingram’s?

- I started when I was 5 years old. I’m 17 years old now and I’m in 12th grade

What do you like most about Karate?

-What I like most about Karate is how it constantly challenges me to improve, both physically and mentally. I also love the people I’ve met and the friendships I’ve made through it.

What has Karate training helped you with outside of the Dojo?

-Karate has definitely helped me outside of the dojo by teaching me discipline, confidence, patience, and how to stay focused even when things get difficult. It’s also taught me to not give up when something doesn’t come easily 💪

What are your future career plans/goals ?

-For my future career, I’m interested in going into the FBI and eventually working in the field of forensic psychology/criminal profiling.

What is your favorite color?
-My favorite color is purple

Favorite food?
-I love steak 🥩

What do you enjoy doing in your free time when you are not training Karate?

-In my free time I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, listening to music, playing the violin, and of course training Karate 🥋
