Flamenco Vivo in Mirrorball: Reflections of Dance & Fashion by J. Joseph Pastrana
Flamenco Vivo gets the spotlight in Mirrorball: Reflections of Dance & Fashion by J. Joseph Pastrana, the just published nonfiction deep dive into the collision of style and dance throughout history. This extensive read spins on the worlds of ballet, Broadway, and more.
"In writing the book," shared Pastrana, "I was very conscious of the fact that I was trying to cover such extensive subjects that I had to be discerning about what absolutely deserved to be included and what I could reasonably omit. Flamenco's role in our collective understanding of dance is so intrinsic and Flamenco Vivo's role in keeping it alive so pivotal, that the book would have been incomplete without them." He also added, "I couldn't neglect my own heritage as a reason to celebrate this Spanish art form... I'm proud to contribute in my own small way in preserving the history of flamenco and introducing it to new generations."
