Internship en GTC
Como parte de nuestro convenio con Florida International University (FIU), los candidatos a graduarse en Educación Física tienen la posibilidad de realizar una pasantía en GTC Tennis Academy and Consultancy (GTC).
Los candidatos no solo participan de un programa que completa las horas necesarias para graduarse. Reciben una combinación personalizada de formación académica, holística y empírica, con la oportunidad de aplicarla en la práctica con jugadores de 4 a 16 años, y de alto rendimiento cuando el calendario los hace parar en GTC y adultos. Son integralmente involucrados en todas las actividades de GTC, que van desde los entrenamientos y los contenidos de las clases hasta la metodología propietaria de GTC, el material de estudio, las autoevaluaciones y las evaluaciones que les brindamos a los internos.
Además, a partir de este año, los pasantes participan de una experiencia que únicamente ofrece GTC en toda la FLORIDA y, muy probablemente, a lo largo del país: fomenta la construcción de una mentalidad sostenida en sus contenidos y la aplica a través de sus programas, que participan todos los niños, jóvenes, jugadores de competencia y adultos, gracias al apoyo de The Sport Culture y de la herramienta Red 2 Blue.
Al final, los internos reciben, además, un certificado de participación, que, dada la reputación que GTC Tennis Academy & Consultancy tiene desde hace más de 20 años, resulta un excelente marco de referencia si desean involucrarse aún más en el negocio del entrenamiento en el tenis.

Building a sustained mindset—maintaining focus where it truly matters—always pays dividends.
As we celebrate the return to the Moon with the Artemis II mission, I recalled a keynote by Apollo 10 Commander Tom Stafford (1930-2024). I was invited a few years ago by renowned horologist and Louis Vuitton watch ambassador Geovanny Rodriguez to celebrate the Speedmaster's anniversary.
I vividly recall his account of when, in an elliptical orbit, they flew over the periapsis (the closest approach) just nine miles above the lunar surface. The periapsis coincided with the Sea of Tranquility, the landing site for Apollo 11. During the ascent, the Lunar Module (LM) began spinning rapidly due to a technical error; Stafford regained control and executed the propulsion maneuver to rejoin the Command Module (CM). (*)
I asked him how they managed under such pressure when every decision was dictated by time. His response revealed the depth of a comprehensive training: methods and structure designed to protect focus.

Siempre encontramos experiencias de cómo la construcción de una mentalidad sostenida, que mantiene el enfoque en lo que realmente importa, paga tributo.
A propósito de la misión Artemis II, recordé una conferencia de Tom Stafford (1930-2024), comandante del Apolo 10. Fui invitado hace unos años por el experto en alta relojería y embajador de Louis Vuitton, Geovanny Rodríguez, para conmemorar el aniversario del Speedmaster.
Recuerdo su comentario cuando sobrevolaban el periapsis a nueve millas de la superficie lunar. Durante el ascenso, el módulo lunar comenzó a girar rápidamente debido a un error técnico; Stafford logró recuperar el control y ejecutar la maniobra de propulsión para reunirse con el módulo de comando. Le pregunté cómo manejaban la presión cuando la toma de decisiones dependía críticamente del tiempo. Su respuesta traslucía la profundidad de un entrenamiento integral: métodos, estructura y preparación para blindar el enfoque.

MÁSTER DE TENIS EN ICEN.

Gracias al Dr.Sergio Guillem Diosdado, Director Académico, y al Dr. Agustín Jerez Martínez ,Director General, por la invitación a formar parte de este Máster ÚNICO e IMPERDIBLE para profesores y entrenadores de tenis.

En mi presentación, propongo construir una Mentalidad Sostenida como Eje de Rendimiento Integral, especialmente cuando nos encontramos bajo presión. Partiendo del principio de que trabajamos con personas que, coincidentemente, son jugadores, entrenadores, padres, directivos o empresarios.
Con aplicación en nosotros mismos, en nuestro entorno laboral y en el contexto de nuestros alumnos. Como modelo de desarrollo de negocio a largo plazo y como catalizador de conocimientos, no solo de esta presentación, sino también del excepcional contenido de todo el máster que brindan colegas de primer nivel.

Cada vez más convencido de mi curiosidad, iniciada hace más de 40 años, y en innumerables conversaciones con Sergio y otros colegas, si no conocemos, sentimos, vivimos, interpretamos y nos adaptamos a la construcción de una Mentalidad Sostenida, es muy difícil transmitirla y ayudar a construirla en quienes puedan necesitarla.

HISPANIC COACHES WORKSHOP IN ATLANTA

I had a fantastic weekend at the recent workshop for Hispanic coaches, organized by USTA Southern, held at the legendary Athletic Club.

Almost 50% of the coaches were women. Amazing 👏, because we need more female coaches!

This event reminded me of when Nancy Horowitz and I conducted 14 workshops across the country with the slogan "How the Local Hispanic Coach Can Impact Tennis in the Country."

My interactive presentations combined experience with new and updated topics, from a perspective that aims to generate ideas and deepen knowledge, but fundamentally to stimulate self-directed learning.

A summary of what was shared:
A) 📌The importance of recognizing three contexts:
*The player's context (we're talking about all levels of play),
*The coach's context (experience and knowledge).
*And the search for a third context that combines what is recognized in the previous two to achieve the best possible context for the tangible benefit of the player.

B) 📖Methodology according to tennis as an open-skill sport by excellence:
* Coherence based on truly experiential knowledge.
* Simplicity + reality.
* Range of acceptability linked to adjustment and correction.
* Principle of acquired skills.

C) The Long-Term Player Development Concept 🔗with the Long-Term Business Model

D) 🧠The importance of building a sustained mindset in coaches:
We emphasize that sports culture and values ​​provide us with numerous tools and stories, especially in elite sports.
We work with people who coincidentally play tennis. It is indeed challenging to develop a sustained mindset of successful performance under pressure in a player if, as coaches, we have not learned, developed, and practiced it. On the other hand, the vast majority of coaches do not work with players who truly constitute high performance. Instead, they try to manage pressure daily, striving to maintain the highest possible levels of attention so that their students improve, their parents are happy, and they are glad to pay for the coach's services.
