Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! Hip Hop is part of American history and Latino artists are part of its story. From its early days in the Bronx to the artists shaping it today, their creativity has helped Hip Hop grow across generations and communities.

When we bring Principles of Hip Hop to schools, students learn that history through music, movement, and participation. They discover the many contributions of Latino artists who helped shape Hip Hop and discover how much fun it is to create together.

Today sponsored by is having a free block party to celebrate their fifth anniversary!

Philadelphia’s parks hold a special place in our hearts. As young dancers, these public spaces gave us places to connect, move, create, and relax. We’re excited to see the legacy of these historic places kept alive.

The Rail Park hosts family-friendly activities, a b**r garden, local food vendors, culturally diverse performances, neighborhood businesses, and community organizations. With over 45 participating partners and vendors, there's a range of opportunities to dance, stretch, meet reptiles, bead, and so much more!

National Arts in Education Week may be ending but advocacy for creative learning must continue. We are asking families, educators, artists, and community members to help protect access to arts education for every student in every community.

Share your arts education story. Thank an arts educator. Contact your representatives. Remind decision-makers that the arts are an essential part of a well-rounded education.

Participating in the arts is essential at every age. When people create, perform, and share their stories, they build confidence, strengthen connections and make their voices heard.

But access to these opportunities is not guaranteed. Federal arts and education funding helps schools and community organizations bring creative experiences to people, especially in communities with limited resources. Supporting arts funding means protecting everyone’s opportunity to not only experience the arts but to participate, create, and belong as well.

If you take part in the arts then take action to ensure others can, too.

This is what arts education looks like: students participating, taking creative risks, supporting one another, and discovering what their bodies and imaginations can do.

In breakin’, students learn that progress comes through practice, experimentation, and the confidence to try again. Every challenge builds grit and determination, showing students that hard work can turn setbacks into growth.
