Meet the Speaker: Marie Davis
We’re excited to welcome Marie Davis, Founder and CEO of Living and Balance Wellness Center, to REMLE!

As a business owner, community leader, speaker, and Master of Social Work student, Marie brings firsthand experience in building programs, leading teams, and navigating the communication challenges that come with fast moving environments. Through her work serving children, families, schools, and communities across Arizona, she is passionate about turning complex leadership challenges into practical lessons that people can understand, remember, and apply.

At REMLE, Marie will present “The Hidden Cost of Miscommunication: How Small Gaps Become Big Problems,” an interactive session exploring how unclear expectations, missing information, and unspoken assumptions can impact trust, teamwork, and results.

Participants will leave with three practical tools to ask better questions, confirm understanding, and prevent small communication gaps from becoming big problems.

This week, we were incredibly grateful to welcome Governor Katie Hobbs to our Valley of the Sun YMCA afterschool program at Monte Vista Elementary School!

During her visit, Governor Hobbs had the opportunity to see our programs in action, connect with students and learn more about the experiences and opportunities we provide through our afterschool programming. From hands on STEM activities to Youth & Government, our team is proud to create spaces where young people can learn, grow and discover their potential.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to showcase the impact of our programs and the incredible work happening in our community. A special thank you to Metro Board Chair Ellen Hedlund for joining us for the school visit as well!

We are thankful to Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation for their generous grant of $5,000, which will go toward supporting our Kids in the Kitchen program. Through the program, children ages 3–12 participate in hands-on cooking and nutrition education, learning about nutritious ingredients and how healthy choices can become part of everyday life. 🌱

With backgrounds spanning strategic consulting, entrepreneurship, change management, human resources, leadership, and organizational transformation, Marcus and Melvin bring a unique perspective on turning professional experience and expertise into meaningful entrepreneurial impact.
