Hey everyone, meet our newest VCU intern Spencer!

Spencer is a VCU graduate, earning his degree in Health, Physical Education & Exercise Science in 2026. He has a passion for rehabilitative exercise and training for wellness & longevity. During his internship he hopes to develop a deeper understanding of functional fitness & personal training. In his free time, Spencer enjoys playing music and watching football.

Over the next couple months you’ll see him around the gym helping with set up, warm ups/cool downs, working our social media, and helping with our PUMP program. He’s eager to learn the ins and outs of a personal training facility and we are excited to have him!

Friendly reminder: You are not a calculator. 🧠

While some people do need a deficit, most of my clients actually need to increase their intake to see the changes they want. Fueling your body is a requirement for success, not a reward for working out.

When you don’t eat enough of the right things, your body goes into survival mode: metabolism slows, muscle fades, and the “mental fog” sets in.

Stop guessing and start tracking. Get your BMR, find your macro sweet spot, and watch what happens when you actually fuel your potential. 🚀

A massive shoutout to our client who just completed the Monument 10K right alongside his daughter! 🏃‍♂️👟

So, how did he do it without losing his lifting progress? We simply integrated 1-2 dedicated cardio days into his regular strength training routine.

Summer is officially here, and for some of my clients, that means more time on the green. But if you aren’t training for your sport, you’re leaving yards on the table.

By focusing on mobility, core stability, and rotational power, we’ve completely leveled up my client’s drive. He’s hitting cleaner and feeling stronger through all 18 holes.

We’re still working on the short game (don’t ask about the putting 🤫), but the power is officially there.

Life doesn’t stop, and neither has Isaac. 📈

I first met back when I was a student at VCU, long before CoreFitness was even a dream. Three years ago, he officially joined the CoreFitness family, and the shift has been incredible.

After years in the craft beer industry—opening a massive distribution operation—the physical toll was real. He was dealing with constant stiffness and chronic back pain.

Fast forward to today:

The Routine: A mix of 1:1 coaching and our PUMP program.

The Result: Zero chronic pain and a massive increase in range of motion.

Now, instead of managing pain, he’s managing growth for his wife’s business and crushing it as a “super dad.” Proud to have you in the lab, Isaac! 👊💥
