Meet Lyndsey!

StayF**T is excited to introduce our newest staff member, Lyndsey to the team. 💪

You may have already seen her around, randomly taking pictures 📸, interviewing, and recording some of our coaches, or sessions.

🌟Lyndsey interned with us for a while over this last year, helping with marketing and administrative tasks and we are so happy now that she has “officially” become part of our team.

She recently graduated from Western Governors University with a Bachelor of Science Business Administration, Marketing degree. She is super excited to continue to learn and grow in her field as she takes on new tasks here at StayF**T and continues to hone in on the skills that she has already learned.

Some of her favorite hobbies are digging up Geodes in Dugway, hiking, gardening, and crafting and creating things.

We are so EXCITED to announce the winners of our Nutrition Challenge!

🥉In third place was Nancy Hansen! Congratulations Nancy, she took this challenge and showed complete dedication, gaining insight into her fiber and caloric intake, and learning the importance of rest and good quality sleep. Through this amazing dedication she had a 1.1% loss, 1.5 lb fat loss, 2 inch loss.

🥈In second place was Courtney Baggett! Congratulations Courtney, she showed us all that even while on vacation you can turn the healthy habits learned into sustainable lifestyle changes. Courtney had an awesome 2.4% loss, 10.3 lbs fat loss, 4.8 inch loss.

Today is National POTATO DAY!

Here is a quick, easy and macro friendly potato recipe to try today!

𝗥𝗼𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗯𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗲𝘀

INGREDIENTS
1.5 lbs Baby yellow potatoes (720 g)
1 Tbsp Olive oil (15 g)
1-2 tsp Kosher Salt (to taste)
1 tsp Garlic powder
1/2 tsp Pepper
1/2 tsp Chili powder
1/2 tsp Paprika
Any fresh or dried herbs you love

INSTRUCTIONS
-Cut potatoes into halves or quarters depending on how big they are. You want them to be bite-sized!
-Spread potatoes onto a large sheet pan, drizzle or spray with 1 Tbsp olive oil (15 g) and sprinkle with seasonings.
-Toss well, spread out, and roast at 425 for 30-35 minutes.

Calories: 109 kcal
Carbohydrates: 22 g
Protein: 2.2 g
Fat: 2.5 g

Happy Tuesday!

Kids are headed back to school and summer is coming to an end. It’s time to come sweat it out and challenge yourself alongside a supportive community of like-minded individuals. Together, we’ll conquer goals, break boundaries, and emerge stronger than ever!

Next week we are reassessing our Squats and Glute maxes- finishing this block off stronger than we started!

We are about to head into the 10th week of the Nutrition challenge!! And what a couple of months it has been! So much has been accomplished by our challengers and more importantly we here at StayF**T feel it important to acknowledge who our challengers have become in the process.

Our participants have learned and practiced day in and day out many habits that we hope will continue to be a part of their lifestyles even after the challenge is over! We hope these things they have learned will continue to help them to live a happy and healthy life. That is part of our purpose is to teach our clients how to lead healthy lives. And wither you are participating in the challenge or not. We are encouraging our participants or anyone who has followed along with us on this journey-to reflect on the last couple of months and think about what you have learned and what it is you want to continue to apply to your life moving forward, or what changes do you need to make now so you can live a healthier life.

Reflection is meant to help you take account and to help refine who you are, it is meant to show you where you can make changes that will ultimately benefit your life for the better.

One thing that continues to be a topic of discussion with all our challenges in regards to making nutritious food choices is how to take the guess work out- And the answer always comes down to planning, preparing and executing!

The perfect example is planning to meal prep, preparing the ingredients and executing by making the meal and packing it away for those busy days ahead.

Here is an easy and delicious sheet pan veggie idea to take on the run:

𝗜𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟱 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀:
1 medium sweet potato
3 red potatoes
4 fingerling purple potatoes
2 carrots
1 small head of broccoli
𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀:
2.5 tbsp olive oil
2 sprigs rosemary
1.5 tsp garlic powder
1.5 tsp oregano
juice from 1 lemon
sea salt & pepper to taste
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀:
Preheat oven to 420 degrees, chop up veggies, place in bowl, pour the seasoning over the veggie and mix well, place contents on baking sheet, bake for 30-35 minutes.
Per Serving:
Calories- 220, Protein-5g, Fat-7g, Carbs-33g, Fiber-5g.

One of the most common questions asked by our nutrition challengers is "What can I eat to get more protein into my day?"

It is a great question!

Now that our challengers are moving into their 9th week of the 12 week Nutrition Challenge and they have learned how to incorporate protein into their daily dietary habits, and practice getting enough protein on a daily basis to help keep them on track to reach their goals!

Here are some easy things you can add to your "Go To" list too to sneak more protein into your day!
-High quality meats like steak, ground beef, turkey, pork tenderloin or chicken
-Hummus
-Bone broth
-Chickpea or lentil pasta
-Eggs- boil, fry, or add to pancake mix
-H**p and chia seeds- make a pudding or or add to a smoothie
-Nut butters- peanut butter, almond butter etc.
-High quality whey, plant based or casein protein powders- add to a smoothie with fruit or drink from a shaker bottle. Clean simple eats and 1st Phorm have some great options.
-Protein bars- some favorites are G2G Bars, Built bars, Barebells and 1st Phorm Protein bars
-Fish
-Spinach, Kale, Broccoli
Dairy Products like:
-Cottage cheese
-Milk
-Yogurt
Get creative! There are lots of ways to add more protein to your every day life!

It is helpful to remember the reasons why protein is so important:

It synthesizes hormones, it is the main building blocks of the body, helps keep you full, supports immunity by creating antibodies, maintains cell structure, helps keep blood sugar more stable, and are essential for muscle structure and function.

Let's bring July in with a bang!

🏋️‍♀️Starting with a member in gym ab challenge,

🏋️‍♀️one point for every rep completed through the month,

🏋️‍♀️each week the ab exercise changes,

🏋️‍♀️reps only count when done in the gym before and after class, not during the workout, or at home.

🏋️‍♀️write your name and reps completed on the white board at the gym.

🏋️‍♀️This week complete knee to elbow crunches/sit-ups.

🏋️‍♀️The goal is at least 250 each week.

🏋️‍♀️How many will you do? And Who can complete the most reps this week? or this month?

We are 5 weeks into our Spring Into Summer Weight loss challenge!

Our challengers are learning to master simple habits by repeating them consistently on a daily basis to reach their weight loss goals.

The process of weight loss is simple but not necessarily easy. Repetition is the key to mastery, and it's by practicing a few key habits every day, that through time, bring about great change!

If you are trying to lose weight don't overcomplicate the weight loss process.

Do you find yourself majoring in the minors of weight loss?

Weight loss majors:
-Calorie deficit
-Macros- Protein first! Then overall calories
-Exercise/Activity and Steps
-Healthy Habits (80/20 rule and lots of veggies and fruits-fiber!)
-Water Intake
-Rest and Recovery

Weight loss minors:
Food selection, carbs and fat ratios, exercise selection, meal timing, supplements.

Now there is a time and a place for all the minors, but focus on the big picture of weight loss and practice the majors and until you can do the majors consistently the minors can take the back burner in your mind.

Remember your entire life can change with 3-6 months of consistency! Perfection isn't the goal. Consistency is. Don't try to be perfect. Try to be better than you were yesterday. Consistency beats perfectionism every tim.

Have a plan, start small, work hard and stay CONSISTENT!

We are in our third full week of the Spring Into Summer Nutrition Challenge and our challengers are doing such an amazing job! They are making choices every day to bring them one step closer to their goals! 💪

🎯This week they are practicing tracking their foods in a tracking app, and learning to hit a macro goal consisting of protein, fats and carbs! I am proud of the work they have put in so far.
🎯They are also learning how to create balance in their every day lives when it comes to their nutrition through the 80/20 rule. Getting 80% of their macros and calories from high protein, high fiber, whole food sources with plenty of fruits and vegetables. And 20% from the foods they love!

🍫 Something that I love and can't see myself going without is CHOCOLATE! If you find yourself in the same boat, here is a healthier recipe option for chocolate protein brownies! Just because your goal is weight loss does not mean you have to forgo things you love. Learn to create that balance so you can enjoy the foods you love, and still reach your goals!

These healthy protein brownies are rich, fudgy and come together quickly in one bowl!
PREP TIME:10 minutes
COOK TIME:30 minutes
SERVINGS:16
​​Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line with parchment.

INGREDIENTS:
▢1 cup creamy almond or peanut butter
▢2 large eggs
▢½ cup pure maple syrup
▢¼ cup unsweetened almond milk
▢1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Happy Friday!!
May was such a great month here at the gym.
We finished up the Stronger than 6 Challenge. Everyone did an awesome job and had so much fun completing the “this” or “that” challenges each week. We had 16/22 people complete the challenge, we divided the pot with all the challengers, they earned their $50 back plus an extra $16 each.

The Obstacle Race we went to was amazing! Everyone that attended was smiling ear to ear with all of the fun portions of the race, it was so great to go and be part of the community that day.
May the 4th be with you was such a blast, everyone dressed up in their favorite Star Wars attire that day and some got into character as well (looking at you coach Alex.)

We welcomed Coach Mikayla to the team along with so many new members. We are so excited to grow our F**TFam and team!

Looking ahead, what can we expect this month at StayF**T?

June 1st- Pride Day: Wear Rainbow colors and Show your love and support for our LGBTQ+ StayF**T family.
