Happy Birthday to one of the best. â¤ď¸đ
If youâve been around CrossFit Round Rock for any length of time, youâve probably been impacted by Coach Sam.
Sheâs the voice or truth and love when youâre frustrated, the person who notices the little things everyone else misses, and the coach who somehow always knows exactly how to help you move without pain again.
So many people in this community are lifting, running, squatting, hiking, playing with their kids, and living with less pain because of her. Thatâs a pretty incredible legacy.
For almost 10 years, sheâs poured her heart into this community, not because she has to, but because thatâs just who she is. She celebrates every PR, every first pull up, every comeback, and every small win right alongside you.
Weâre so lucky to have someone who cares as deeply as she does đđ
Happy Birthday, Samantha. We hope youâre having the best time exploring Italy. Youâve certainly earned it! đŽđšâ¤ď¸ Thank you for making CrossFit Round Rock a better place and for making all of us a little better too. We canât wait to have you back đŤśđź

One of the most powerful things a coach can say is:
"I don't know."
That probably sounds strange coming from someone whose job is helping people find answers...but hear me out.
Too many people have been given confident advice that was completely wrong for them.
Someone saw a 30-second TikTok.
Someone heard a podcast.
Someone repeated what worked for another person.
And suddenly they're handing out solutions without ever asking questions.
I've worked with enough people in pain to know that confidence and certainty are not the same thing.
Just because someone sounds sure of themselves doesn't mean they're right.
If you ask me a question and I don't know the answer, I'll tell you.
Not because I don't care....because I care enough to not make something up.
I'd rather spend time researching, learning, asking smarter questions, and finding the best answer I can...than give you advice simply because I feel pressure to have an answer on the spot.
Sometimes the most honest answer is:
"I don't know yet... but I'm committed to finding out."
Has a professional ever told you "I don't know," and did it increase or decrease your trust in them?

âWe are saving an endangered species.â
.
The active human.
.
That sentence sounds dramatic until you really sit with it for a second.
.
Most people in the U.S. donât even average 8,000 steps a day anymore.
.
Not because theyâre inherently lazy.
Because modern life has made movement optional.
.
Groceries get delivered.
Entertainment gets delivered.
Validation gets delivered in 15 second clips.
I even saw a TMobile commercial the other dayâŚ
YOU CAN DOORDASH A PHONE! Stop the madness!
.
You can spend an entire day inside without ever feeling sunlight on your face.
And somehow thatâs become normal.
.
Weâve become obsessed with convenience.
Quick fixes.
Fast results.
Immediate comfort.
.
And slowly without realizing it we forgot what effort feels like.
.
What patience feels like.
What building something over years feels like.
.
People want the transformation without the process.
They stare at the finish line they created in their headâŚ
and it feels so far away that they never even start.
.
Or they stand at the start line staring into the unknownâŚ
terrified of failing.
Terrified of looking stupid.
Terrified of finding out how much work it actually takes.
.
But the truth isâŚ
life happens in the space between those two points.
.
Thatâs where confidence is built.
Thatâs where resilience is built.
Thatâs where health is built.
.
Not at the start line.
Not at some imaginary finish line.
There is no finish line!
.
Thereâs just the daily decision to keep moving.
To keep trying.
To keep choosing effort in a world designed to make you comfortable enough to stop.
.
Thatâs the part that scares me the most.
.
Not that people are incapable of hard things.
But that weâre slowly being taught to avoid them altogether.

Youâre Trying to Fix the Wrong Problem.
Stop fixing whatâs not broken.
.
Thatâs one of the biggest mistakes I see people make when theyâre trying to get out of pain.
.
They try to stretch a strength problemâŚ
or strengthen a mobility problem.
.
And regardless of which one it isâŚ
whatâs actually missing?
Capacity.
.
Access to ranges of motion you donât currently own.
Strength in positions your body has been avoiding.
Control and stability where youâve lost it.
Confidence in movements your body stopped trusting.
.
Sometimes itâs all of it.
Sometimes itâs just one.
Thatâs why you have to look at the full picture.
.
And when we doâŚ
.
We take what your body can do.
We respect your current limits.
And we slowly expand them.
.
Thatâs how you go from constantly managing painâŚ
to actually moving freely again.
.
If youâve been stuck trying to âfixâ everything and nothingâs workingâŚ
it might be time to shift the approach.
.
What movement still feels off for you right now?
