A promise on a map doesn’t keep anyone safe.
San Antonio has nearly $16 million in state funding and a design for the Market Street Cycle Track, nearly a mile of protected, two-way bike lane from Flores Street to I-37. In a guest piece under The Urban Nerd column, Joey Pawlik of ActivateSA makes the case for building it, and for answering the worries about traffic, deliveries and big events instead of dismissing them. If the city walks away, the money goes to another Texas city.
