Game Changer Sportfishing

The GC is officially off and running our 2026 season. The crew left yesterday on the first trip of the season. We have the pleasure of a new group joining us on their first trip with us. Good luck to Brent and Justin Oho and friends. Have fun!

Who's ready to get this 2026 fishing season started?! It's time for the annual Pacific Coast Sportfishing show in Orange County. Dates are March 5-8.

I am going to be at the Point Loma Sportfishing booth on Friday and Saturday. Who from our GC family is going to be there? I'd love to see you all. There's a free goodie for those of you that come by and say hi! Let me know if you plan on attending!

What has been going on with the GC? Well, Ryan and Kayden have spent the last month and a half completely remodeling all three bathrooms. They gutted them and updated EVERYTHING.

For those who use the very downstairs stateroom and bathroom, you will be happy to know the shower was moved over and the toilet was raised up on to a pedestal. So now, there is no step up to the toilet or shower, even a bigger angler has room to sit down and you will now hit the seat a little quicker! LOL

All the bathrooms received:
All new lighting, including in each shower
New ceiling
New flooring
refinished cabinets with brand new doors
Stone counter tops
New bathroom fixtures and mirrors
New removable shower heads and a bar to hold on to
All new fiberglass and painted showers
New wallpaper
BASICALLY, entirely new bathrooms! I think you will all love the new look and functionality.

Next project is interior paint and new carpets. Then the GC hauls out on March 30 for some exterior work. After that, its anglers prep those reels and get ready to fish!

Don't forget the fantastic pricing on late April and all of May!

What’s going on with the GC you ask? Well this winter’s big project is remodel of all three bathrooms.
New flooring, ceilings, glass shower doors, granite counters, new lighting, etc!
Ryan and Kayden have taken all 3 baths down to a cabinet and shower frame.
Note Blue supervising! 🙂

Saving the BEST post for last.....Paying it forward......

As we end our season 2025, I have saved our best trip of the season for my final trip post of the year. We are so blessed for the support all of you give us as we continue to fish each season. Without you, we would not be here. We wanted to do something special to make a difference in the lives of others, as you all have done for us.

This trip was one of a kind and made memories for a lifetime for all that attended, including the 4-legged crew that had their share of attention from all the kids!

Captain Ryan, Kayden and myself, had the pleasure of hosting Principal Rebecca Vogel and 9 of her students from Cabrillo Elementary School in Point Loma, on a day out fishing trip. All thanks to Larry Brown and the PL Optimist for helping put this together.

If you have never done it, take a child fishing! Only when you see fishing through the eyes of a child, do you really appreciate the true thrill of the sport.

These kids came on the boat in awe of the "big boat" and all that it offered, stairs!, bedrooms, a patio, and of course "all the goodies on the table"!

Once we left, it was all the cool things that would make up their fishing experience; the hundreds of dolphins that would swim up to the bow and all around, the slimy and rubbery squid, the bait in the tank, feeding the sea gulls and seeing the sea lions. Oh yeah, and then there was the "fishing". Feeling the tug at the end of their rod, reeling their own fish and seeing it come up on the boat, put the biggest smiles on their faces.

Not sure who was more excited about all these experiences as Principal Vogel was like a big kid herself! Her infectious excitement and love for her students was heartwarming to see.

The kids ended their day with a new GC tshirt and fresh fish to take home to their family. One of the students, Junior, was a serious fisherman. He was so excited to have his fresh caught fish. His aunt shared a picture with us, as he sat down to eat his fish.

Thank you Larry, Optimist Club and Principal Vogel for allowing us to be a part of such a joyous day. It is a trip the crew will not forget.
