Coach Aaron’s secret weapon for shoulder pain? A $3 lacrosse ball. 🎾

If you’ve been dealing with tight, achy shoulders — this one’s for you.

Here’s exactly what Aaron does:

🔵 Place the LAX ball on your shoulder, right where it meets the wall

🔵 Find that tender trigger point — you’ll know it when you find it 😅

🔵 Apply gentle pressure and hold for 60-120 seconds

🔵 Slowly move your arm to create movement while maintaining pressure

This technique is called myofascial release, and it works by breaking up adhesions in the soft tissue and encouraging blood flow to areas that are holding chronic tension. That shoulder knot you’ve been ignoring? Yeah, we’re coming for it.

Aaron coaches at Fit Societe — one of San Diego’s top gyms for people who want to move BETTER, not just lift heavier. Mobility is strength.

📍 San Diego workouts that actually address how your body feels — not just how it looks.

So when SHOULD you fuel before a workout? 🤔

Stuck? Not seeing progress? Your plateau is trying to tell you something. 🛑

A training plateau isn’t a sign that you’ve maxed out your potential — it’s a signal that your current stimulus is no longer challenging your body. Here’s what’s likely happening and how to fix it:

WHY IT’S HAPPENING:

🔁 Your body has adapted — The human body is incredibly efficient. Once it masters a stimulus, it stops needing to change in response to it. Same weights, same reps, same exercises = same results.

🍽️ Under-fueling — If you’ve been in a calorie deficit for months, your metabolism has likely adapted downward. You may need to eat MORE to get your body out of survival mode and back into a growth state.

😴 Under-recovering — Sleep is when your body actually builds muscle and repairs tissue. If you’re training hard but sleeping 5-6 hours, you’re leaving results on the table every single night.

📉 Accumulated fatigue — More is not always more. Sometimes a deload week — where you reduce volume and intensity intentionally — is what allows your body to fully recover and come back stronger.

HOW TO BREAK THROUGH:

✅ Apply progressive overload — Add weight, reps, sets, or decrease rest time systematically

✅ Change the stimulus — New exercise variations, tempos, or rep ranges force new adaptations

✅ Audit your nutrition — Ensure you’re eating enough protein (0.7–1g per lb of body weight is well-supported by research)

✅ Prioritize sleep — 7–9 hours is not optional for serious progress

✅ Talk to a coach — An outside eye will catch what you can’t see yourself

At Fit Societe, our coaches specialize in breaking through exactly these sticking points. If you’re training at a San Diego gym and spinning your wheels — come see us. We’ll find the gap.

HOT TAKE 🔥 Put Down the “Protein” Snacks

At Fit Societe, we’ve got a hot take:

👉 Put down the protein snacks.
👉 Pick up whole foods.

Protein bars, cookies, chips, and “high-protein” treats are meant to be supplements — not the foundation of your diet.

Here’s the truth:
A lot of these products are ultra-processed and packed with additives, sugar alcohols, seed oils, artificial flavors, and fillers. Yes, they contain protein… but that doesn’t automatically make them a “protein snack.”

Flip the label over 👀
If the protein grams are lower than the carbs and fat, it’s not a protein snack. It’s just a regular snack with a little protein sprinkled in for marketing.

Whole food protein sources =
🥩 Lean meats
🥚 Eggs
🐟 Fish
🧀 Greek yogurt
🌱 Beans & legumes

These come with better micronutrients, better satiety, and fewer additives your body has to process.

We’re not saying never have a bar. We’re saying:
Make real food your base. Supplements should supplement — not replace.

Your physique (and your gut health) will thank you.

I grieve different🫣

as coaches sometimes we are the worst clients as well. We spent all day trying to help others with their fitness, nutrition, and health goals that sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves

But at the end of the day, we’re so happy we can help you
