Turns out my yoga studio had a pretty amazing view this morning. 🎈A retired world champion racing hot air balloon. 💙🧘🏽‍♀️🧘‍♂️

Teaching yoga inside a hot air balloon at the Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Festival was definitely a first and one I’ll never forget. Thank you to everyone who climbed in, stretched, moved, and started the day with us.

If you missed it, you can still catch me every Wednesday morning for yoga at MOVE Sonoma County. We’d love to have you on the mat. 💛

There’s also 2 more mornings of yoga at

The truth about strength training 💪🏽

For women, estrogen naturally declines during perimenopause and beyond, it becomes harder to build and keep muscle. That’s exactly why strength training becomes more important, not less.

We’re not lifting to get bigger.

We’re lifting to protect our bones, support our metabolism, maintain muscle, and stay strong enough to do the things we love for years to come.

If you’ve been avoiding the weight rack because you’re worried about getting bulky, I hope this gives you permission to rethink it.

Strong looks different on every woman. And I think that’s something worth celebrating.

MOVE Sonoma County is here to help you build strength for life—not just for today. 💛

Funny how our definition of success changes.

There was a time when I thought it was all about the degree, the title, and climbing the ladder. Those things still matter—but these days, success also looks like a Wednesday morning hike, moving my body, having the freedom to slow down, and feeling healthy enough to enjoy it. 🙌🏼

Maybe growing up isn’t about having more.
Maybe it’s about realizing what matters most.

🏔️ Movement. Nature. Community. Time well spent.

At some point midlife turned into a full-time project:

Build muscle.
Eat more protein.
Fix your hormones.
Heal your gut.
Reduce stress.
Get enough sleep.
Stay hydrated.
Walk more.
Drink less.
Love your body.
Don’t emotionally eat.

Meanwhile you’re still working, caregiving, managing a household and trying to remember why you walked into the laundry.

You don’t have to do it alone! Let us support you! 💗

The end of a month tends to sneak up. One day you look at the calendar and realize a whole stretch of life happened while you were just living it.

I see a lot is how quickly we move past our own progress. The win gets noticed for a second, then it’s on to the next thing on the list. We’re quick to register what we didn’t get to and slow to give ourselves credit for what we did.

The growth that’s quieter, the kind that doesn’t come with a finish line, usually goes uncounted entirely.
It’s worth slowing down for a minute before the month turns over.

You did more than you’re giving yourself credit for! 🙌🏼✨

🧘🏽‍♀️Slow flow yoga is a deliberate, breath-led practice that transitions smoothly between poses but holds them longer than a standard Vinyasa class.

It builds muscular strength, improves joint flexibility, and activates the parasympathetic nervous system for stress and anxiety relief.

The benefits of a slow flow practice cater heavily to both physical and mental well-being.

🧘🏻‍♀️Holding postures for extended periods allows muscles to safely lengthen and increases the range of motion in joints.

🧘‍♀️Slower, deliberate movements and sustained holds force your core and stabilizer muscles to engage, building muscular endurance.

🧘🏾‍♀️It is a low-impact workout that gently lubricates the joints and relieves chronic tension without high-intensity strain.

🧘🏻‍♀️Practicing slow, controlled transitions between poses trains your body to move with grace and stability.

🧘🏼‍♀️Deep, rhythmic breathing combined with slow movement actively lowers cortisol levels and calms the nervous system.

🧘🏾‍♀️It serves as “meditation in motion,” teaching you patience, focus, and a deeper awareness of your body’s physical cues.
